More on 5/6 grade teachers
Moving everyone to the Hill gives us the opportunity to restructure our middle grades. 5th and 6th grades will be kept separate, with two sections of each grade. We will have four teachers teaching 5th and 6th grades, with each teacher specializing in a subject:
Trisha Sizer: 5th grade Math, 6th grade Math
Michelle Ellingworth: 5th grade Language Arts 6th grade Language Arts
Amanda Stahl: 5th grade Science and Writing, 5th grade Science and Writing
Linda Ruehle: 5th grade Social Studies & Religion, 6th grade Social Studies & Religion
Students will be grouped by homerooms and travel together throughout the day to core classes and well as to specials (Spanish, Phy Ed, Music/Band) Watch for more information soon on homeroom teacher assignments.

Uniform Policy
K-6 Students will be in uniform, consisting of navy or khaki (please note the addition of khaki bottoms to the K-4 grades) pants, shorts or skirts or jumpers,   plaid #57 skirts or jumpers, navy or white polo tops, and navy cardigans for girls, navy sweaters for boys. Decisions on Loyola spirit wear will be made very soon and will be communicated to families.

As we move to one campus, we have the opportunity to offer our 7th and 8th graders a smooth transition into secondary grades. With that, our 7th and 8th grade rooms will occupy the upper level front wing, and will no longer be required to wear uniforms. We are currently completing our Student/Parent Handbook that will include 7-12 grade dress code details. Watch for that very soon.
Fall Athletics
The Fall Athletics meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 9th at 6PM  in the cafeteria.  The first day of practices are  Monday, August 14th .  More information about practice times will be given at the meeting on the 9th.

Message from Casey Breen:
I still recall the fall day in 2013 when my car made its way up The Hill for the first time.  Seeing this sacred place, that will now be home to the entirety of Loyola's student body, was both surprising and breathtaking.  The journey of my relationship with this amazing community since then has been exciting, challenging and growth-filled.  Our strategic work these past four years has undoubtedly set the stage for a fruitful next chapter in this school's rich history! We are in the best of hands with our new Board Leadership and our School Leader, Mr. Adam Bemmels.

As Adam and I have continued to work through this summer's transition, my confidence is only strengthened in how well we are positioned for a successful 2017-18 school year.  I look forward to helping Adam and the Board secure the resources they need for success.  That work will focus on growing our Annual Fund, supporting many fundraising event teams, strengthening our larger level gift program and, much like the restart of the Home and School Parent Association this year, we will seek to get some pieces of a Loyola Alumni Association started.  If you have experience or interest in working with us on any of these efforts please reach out to me ( [email protected] or (507) 388-0617.

Thank you for affording me the honor of serving you as your President these past few years and thank you in advance for all you will do to help Loyola strengthen our relationships and resources in these coming years.
Peace!
Casey Breen,  Director of Advancement
