February 2019

Dear Concordia Alumna/us,

We show love in many ways to one another--to our spouses, children, friends, and colleagues. There is romantic love (eros), brotherly/sisterly love (philia), and unconditional love (agape), which is the love that Jesus has for us. E ach day when we make breakfast for our family, or we help a stranger in the community, or we support one another at CUAA, we are putting love into action.  Did you know that Concordia is the Latin word for "with one heart?" So, think about it. Instead of Concordia University, we could be With One Heart University. As we celebrate this month of love, let's remember the many ways in which we show love for one another within the Concordia community.

Take a look at the many events and opportunities below to show the heart of Concordia.
Former Players Surprise CUAA's First Athletic Director with Scholarship

Dave Wenzel, CUAA's first-ever athletic director and 2016 Hall of Fame inductee, was surprised with a unique legacy gift by his former players during the CUAA women's first-round game at the 68th annual Concordia Invitational Tournament. That night was the first he learned about the Coach Wenzel Scholarship, an endowment created in his name by dozens of his former players. Click here to read more.

2018-19 Academic Theme - More than Conquerors
.... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
