Essence magazine on Tuesday began streaming a live weekly talk show on Twitter, the first video series there that might be considered part of so-called Black Twitter, the informal designation for users who often talk about black issues, culture, current events and comedy.
LA Times
Thirty-nine percent of Asian American women are entrepreneurs, and the number of Asian American female-owned businesses is increasing at a faster pace than any other group of women in the United States, Nielsen's study, "Asian American women: digitally fluent with an intercultural mindset" found.

Out actors, LGBT shows, and shows about people of color and women have been noticed. If there were any lingering questions about network television's dwindling ability to nab Emmy nominations, it was answered with the announcement of this year's nominees, overwhelmingly skewed toward cable and streaming sites as well as toward fresh, queer, intersectional television.

The Hollywood Reporter
The former Today co-host is partnering with Weinstein Television for a new daytime talk show. Currently in development, the untitled project will feature a mix of current events, human-interest stories and in-depth celebrity and newsmaker interviews.
CNBC
The streaming service is set to debut its first original series for India, "Inside Edge," on Monday - just six months after Amazon's Prime service launched in the country. It's the latest push to capture a market in which the tech giant has committed $5 billion, and plans to launch at least 17 more original series over the next few years.

Although sports sites are making a major effort to generate video content and are increasingly including live broadcasts across their digital platforms, content consumption by U.S. Hispanics still remains low. Only 14.7% of all Hispanic netizens view sports video content. Just in the last month, we saw an almost 1% drop, for a total of 3.9 million users.
