And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my savior."
Luke 1:46-47

Dear MBS Families,

It is hard to believe that summer has just about concluded and that we are preparing to open our doors for another school year. The 2017-2018 school year will be the fifteenth year that our school will provide a ministry of faith and academics to the eight parishes of southern Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland that we serve. We are pleased to be called to this ministry.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT
Our annual Back-to-School Night will be held on August 31st at 6:00 p.m. This year, our HSA is planning to hold a mixer social hour for parents (no children, please) from 5:30 until 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the social hour is to give parents an opportunity to meet and greet one another in a social setting. Light finger food and wine will be served. We hope that everyone will be able to join us. The regular Back-to-School Night meeting will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.

OPENING DAY PRAYER SERVICE
On the first day of school, we will gather as a faith community on the front sidewalk to offer prayers of thanksgiving and petition for a successful school year. Parents are encouraged to attend and participate. The prayer service will begin at 8:15  a.m. and end by 8:35 a.m. Pre-K and Kindergarten students will go directly to their classrooms or may remain at the prayer service with their parents.

  SPRING /SUMMER WEATHER UNIFORM
All students are expected to be fully dressed in the spring/summer weather uniform on the first day of school. Please make plans to comply with the uniform regulations regarding shoes, especially sneakers. Sneakers can be white, tan or gray with no designs. Please keep this regulation in mind. Boys should have their hair trimmed to the appropriate length.

MAKING PAYMENTS TO THE SCHOOL
When making payments to the school, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE write a separate check for each amount. Please do not combine amounts onto one check. We ask that you understand that we are a school of over 250 children and keeping track of and sorting out combined payments is impossible. Your help in this regard is very much appreciated.

FIRST WEEK DROP OFF AND PICK-UP
We ask everyone to please be patient during the first week with the drop-off and pick-up procedures. At pick-up time, we are asking drivers to enter the line through the St. John Neumann parking lot and not via Rt. 589. In doing so, the line of cars will extend toward the church lot and not out onto the highway. Unless prior administrative approval has been given, all drivers are expected to follow the regular pick-up line procedures. All drivers are to exit through the car line and not go against traffic when exiting.

Vision Statement

Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School provides rigorous and technologically relevant instruction that is intentionally integrated with Catholic identity.  Together, as Pastors, administrators, teachers and parents, we nurture the development of the mind, the body, and the soul, in each of our students.  Our students are able to make sound decisions based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and modeled upon the lives of the saints.  As a faith and learning community, we teach students a passion for the truth and a love for discovery and knowledge. Our students are prepared to relate their Catholic faith to their culture and actively live their faith as members of the greater community.
