Upcoming Events & After School Opportunities
Students & Parents! Your generosity and jump roping raised $6775 for the American Heart Association(AHA)--the most PCCS has ever raised! The AHA showed their appreciation for PCCS's generosity with $850 in US Games Gift Cards for new PE equipment. See below for pictures!
PBIS--Be Respectful at Dismissal
Be Respectful at Dismissal.  As part of a community which does carpool this way, we need to do our part to help the system work well. This means being respectful to our classmates, the staff, and the parents who are part of this system. By waiting quietly in the classroom and out at the carpool area, we show respect for the others in our community.
Academic Excellence
Curriculum Night
What is your definition of Academic Excellence? Good Grades? High School Readiness? A Core of Knowledge shared by all?  Come to curriculum night to find out more about Academic Excellence and how Prairie Crossing Charter School (PCCS) prepares our students for the future. At curriculum night you will meet your child's teacher and learn more about the curriculum, strategies, and programs used at PCCS.  You will leave with an understanding of a typical day for your child, and of course you will have an opportunity to ask questions from the various teachers at the school. We look forward to a 100% turn-out for this important event.

Curriculum for Kindergarten through 4th grade will be held on September 5th @ 6-7pm.
Curriculum Night for 5th through 8th Grade will be held September 12th @  6-7 pm.

Assessments
This week and next, the students in Grades 2 through 8 will be taking the NWEA assessments for Math and ELA. These assessments are an integral part of our planning for curriculum development and instruction. In some cases these results are used for programming classroom instruction including both individual enrichment and remediation.  In the spring, our students also participate in the PARCC assessment. This assessment also helps the school understand student learning and provide a more comprehensive plan for instruction. These results were recently received and will be distributed by the classroom teachers this afternoon.  If you would like help understanding these scores or others, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher for guidance. This link  PARCC SCORES FOR PARENTS will guide you to better understanding of what this score sheet means to you and your child.

PSO Corner
As you're going through your closets and getting ready for fall, please remember that the PCCS Textile Drive is quickly approaching. It's a great way to contribute to the community and help your school. We are looking forward to the start of a great year.
