Families Connect and Reflect at CancerCare's Healing Hearts Camp

Cancer Care's  annual Healing Hearts Family Bereavement Camp is a special place where families coping with the loss of a loved one to cancer can laugh together, cry together and remember their loved ones together. 

During the second week of June, families gathered at this free weekend retreat to swim, ride horses and process their healing journey.

New Survey Illuminates the Financial Hardship of Cancer

Cancer-related expenses and the lack of information and education regarding out-of-pocket costs can take an enormous toll on patients and their families, both emotionally and financially.  According to a recent survey conducted by CancerCare, 70 percent of patients have experienced financial hardship from cancer-related expenses.




 
CancerCare Clients Share Their Stories

When Anita was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, she was determined to continue working, keep busy and stay positive. Still, she says, "There were times when I would just cry. I would say, 'Why me? I didn't do anything to deserve this.'"

CancerCare's individual counseling and financial assistance programs helped Anita cope.
