We're honoured to serve our community
Dear  ,

We try not to steal the spotlight from the hard work our volunteers are doing in the community, but would like to take a moment to recognize the length of service for some employees at the office. Most especially, Vijaya Noorithaya has just reached her 10 year anniversary with the organization.
Fleeing from Danger to Find Hope
Barbara came to Canada from Colombia after meeting a man of Colombian descent living in Canada on a dating website. After a brief courtship she came to Canada with many promises of a bright and happy future. Even though she did not speak English, she felt she had found her soul mate.

Leadership Celebration Story
On the windiest day of the year (May 24), United Way decided to host a celebration of their most generous donors.
With the help from CIBC Wood Gundy's Blake Wealth Advisory Group which includes James Blake, Brodie Wagner and Spiro Angelos along with The Black Knight Inn, guests were treated to cocktails and appetizers while hearing great stories of impact their generous donations created.

Thank you to everyone who braved the high winds to join us and to each and every one of the 344 Leadership donors who contributed to the 2016 campaign.

Because of the generosity of our sponsors, no donor dollars were used for this event.

We are born with a brain, but it's our experiences that shape how our brains develop and what our future abilities might be. Toxic stress actually alters the brain, especially if it occurs in the first 5 years of life. What is toxic stress and how does it harm kids?

Thank you to everyone who helped us bring our mosaic to life... to all the donors who bought tiles, to the volunteers who sold tiles, to Parkland Mall for matching all donations, and to Mr. Mikes for the great draw prize. The lucky winner of that prize was Bernetta LeCoure.
