Central Interceptor CIPP Project
A cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) is one of the most widely used rehabilitation methods used to repair existing pipelines. CIPP is a jointless, seamless, pipe-
within-a-pipe with the capability to rehabilitate sewer pipes. The City has about 4,962 feet of sewer pipe in need of rehabilitation. The CIPP is installed through manholes with less disruption to the public. This lower cost and less intrusive process will extend the life of the existing sewer pipes throughout the City. The estimated cost for this project is $1,200,000.

The City advertised for bids on 7/14/17 and bids will be opened on August 7, 2017. The project is expected to last approximately 3-4 weeks and will be completed prior to the wet season. Expect shoulder closures on SR305 during construction. Work will occur at night.
Lincoln Wells 1 and 2 Water Treatment Project
The City opened bids for the Lincoln Wells Water Treatment Plant on July 11, 2017.  Harbor Pacific Contractors was the lowest responsive bidder for $1,099,210.50. This project will be constructed over 9 months and it is the first step of an ongoing program to reduce manganese from Lincoln Wells 1 and 2.  Manganese is a naturally occurring mineral that causes staining and brown water or sediment in the system. The City regularly flushes our systems to remove the sediment.

This project consists of installation of the new treatment plant which will filter manganese out of the water supply.  This project is step one toward the removal of manganese in the system. Future steps will include cleaning the water reservoirs (tanks) and flushing the water mains.  It will also include a treatment plant for the Westside well.  It will take several years to completely filter the manganese from the entire system, but the high zone should see some improvement in 2018/19.
