The 2017 Heritage Home Tour, our 35th annual, will feature docent-led tours of six unique homes in Claremont's Towne Ranch neighborhood. Among the homes will be the Claremont home of management visionary Peter F. Drucker, a Mid-Century post & beam Criley/McDowell design, a Green Energy efficient home, a meticulously re-designed family friendly home, plus a Designer's own renovated Ranch style home.

CLAREMONT MODERN - The Convergence of
Art + Architecture at Mid-century
Claremont Modern
is a companion piece to the 2014 film by Bockhorst, Design for Modern Living: Millard Sheets and the Claremont Art Community 1935 - 1975
The film will chronicle the efforts of forward-looking architects and designers to create living environments suited to the physical and cultural landscape of Claremont and Southern California. It will capture the full sweep of the area's rich architectural heritage, through the residential housing boom of the postwar period, to institutional and commercial projects that advanced modern ideas in architecture and design.
Claremont Modern will feature archival imagery including photographs and drawings of architectural projects that integrated art into the design. Architects featured include: Richard Neutra, Millard Sheets, S. David Underwood, Rufus Turner, Foster Rhodes Jackson, Criley & McDowell, Edward Durell Stone and more.
The Film will be introduced by filmmaker Paul Bockhorst. Copies of the Film will be available for sale
