NSF funds research to help predict structure for long-term electric power transmission
Penn State researchers from the Colleges of Earth and Mineral Sciences and Engineering have received funding from the National Science Foundation to develop a system that will assist the power industry in siting new transmission lines to accommodate a broad range of possible future evolutions of the power grid.

Rachael DeCecco works hard to divide her time between running on Penn State's women's Track & Field team and succeeding as an industrial engineering student. The team won the indoor Big Ten Championship in February.>>
Recent graduates teach presentation skills to Chinese engineering students
Recent graduates Kate Waskiw and Mikhala Stevens, who received their bachelor's degrees in industrial engineering in May, went to China over the summer to teach students at China University of Mining and Technology in Beijing and Shanghai Jiao Tong University how to improve their research presentation and communication skills.>>
