Dear Friend,

What is it about September that makes it feel like a fresh start, no matter how old you are, or how long it has been since you last set foot in a classroom?

For Literacy Partners, September means the return of our students  - parents eager to learn English to strengthen their families, and other students seeking to get their High School Equivalency diploma.  Thanks to your support , we are prepared, ready to welcome students - old and new - with open arms.

But, our students and teachers work hard year-round, and they need your support. As they enter the classroom this month - some for the first time -  please consider becoming a  monthly  supporter. With a monthly gift of $10, $20, $30 or more,  you provide consistent support for our students, and more of your dollars will go directly to their needs. With a monthly gift, you will make an even bigger impact by empowering students to achieve their dreams, year-round.

Our students are brave and determined - seeking to overcome obstacles such as working multiple jobs - in search of bettering themselves and their families. They now have even more significant obstacles to overcome, and fears to strike down, given the current political climate. But you can help and stand with them by becoming a monthly supporter today.

Please, consider making this gift today. As an added bonus, if you sign up as a monthly donor this month, you will receive a Literacy Partners graphic tote bag as a show of our gratitude for your decision to stand with our students. I am always open to hearing from you, so please  email me to learn more about how you can get involved. Thank you for the support that provides the opportunity and solidarity our students need.

Sincerely,

Anthony Tassi,  CEO

Meet Our Marathon Team!

This November, our team will participate in the TCS NYC Marathon, the most popular marathon in the world. We're so proud of our team, who has already collectively raised over $4,000 in support of Literacy Partners.  Who are these determined individuals, and why have they decided to run in support of reading?

Literacy Goes to the Park with Penguin Random House

Last month, Literacy Partners partnered with Penguin Random House as part of the ReadWell campaign. Thanks to the overwhelming participation of readers, PRH will be donating 10,000 books to Literacy Partners! We're excited to share these books with our students and their families. The campaign was covered in Publisher's Weekly .

We also participated in a book drop and helped PRH distribute free copies of A Midsummer Night's Dream to New Yorkers waiting for Shakespeare in the Park tickets.  We loved connecting with readers!
