Pastor Tom's Note
Last Sunday we began a new sermon series examining the radical faith of 1st century Christians. In the midst of their own sense of hopelessness in trying times, the Early Church articulated a successful response to Rome’s heavy-handed cultural imposition. The response cannot be one of cowering and retreat into isolation (the “Benedict Option”) but one of relational engagement with one another and those around us. God is reaching out to tell us we are beloved of God and born of an imperishable seed. He is calling us to be different so that we will make a difference. This tremendous hope is anchored in the Gospel and rests in the power of the Word of God.

Teddy Sayonkon Foundation
Scholarship Fund Raising Efforts Now Underway. Will You Help?

TCC member Teddy Sayonkon continues his mission work in Liberia, with an effort to raise funds for ten highly motivated children to attend a Christian school this year. Less than $500 per child will allow them to buy uniforms and attend school. Donating to support these children is a wonderful way to tangibly share the love of Christ!

TSF’s featured student, Rannie Kai, is from the LY area, and attends the Antioch Baptist church school. His mother passed away and he lives with his dad who is unemployed. Rannie is one of the longest recipients of the TSF scholarship. After high school he would like to study biology and become a physician’s assistant. To learn more about the Teddy Sayonkon Foundation, visit bit.ly/tcc-tsf.

"Mom to Mom makes me a better mom as it 'gives me support' along the way...

Mom to Mom meets weekly to address issues and needs of women and family, guided by Biblical principles. We offer encouragement, compassion, and support to moms with children of all ages living at home. For over fifteen years, hundreds of Moms from the community at-large have come together and learned that they "are not alone" in the delight and struggles of raising a family. Any mom, independent of religious affiliation, is invited to join us.

Mom to Mom also offers a wonderful Christian Children's Ministry Program for infants through kindergartners. There are crafts, music, games and Bible stories for toddlers on up. A loving and responsible children's team offers your kids the best!

Please note that moms and children must be pre-registered. Placement in the children's program is offered on a first come, first served basis. Registration is open to children until October 6th. To register; please visit:  www.momtomomwayland.org.
