A Light Unto My Path
A Video From Pastor Kevin Murriel
What Would Jesus Do?
Greetings Cascade Family and Friends,

In Matthew 18:15-20, Jesus outlined for his disciples the process for reconciling with a fellow believer. Reconciliation, for Jesus, was framed in the larger context of forgiveness as a key tenant of our Christian witness. He taught his disciples to approach reconciliation by doing the following:

1. Pursue direct conversation above passive aggression
2. Invite advice from spiritually mature counsel
3. Seek ecclesial discernment
4. Let God's presence initiate reconciliation

My prayer is that relationships are healed and that pride is constantly cast aside. In moments when relationships cannot be salvaged, I pray that each party would have the courage to act with civility and maturity. Let us remember that we are all a part of the family of God and we must seek to live in peace with one another.

Stay the course,

Be The Light:
A Prayer of Covering

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven."
~ Ecclesiastes 3:1

Prayer changes things. In times, when natural disasters, fear and anxiety try to  cripple our world and our spirits, let us not forget the power of prayer. This  is a prayer to cover our communities, our families, our nation, and our world.

Lord God,
There is nothing natural about a disaster, because You supernaturally control the world  and everything in it. You made the world; You created us. With one breath, you can destroy  or give life; but You are also a God of grace, mercy, and love. In times like this, Lord,  we admit our helplessness. We don't know what to do, but our eyes are on You. Help us  to provide solutions, not blame. Lord, we desperately need You. During actual storms, when the floods try to  overtake us or when we're holding on to escape the rising waters, Lord hear our cry. When the winds howl around us and threaten to shred our hopes and steal our life-long dreams, God help us! Send Your heavenly angels to protect us  and our loved ones, and provide lifelines from earth angels to keep us safe. Speak peace to the wind and the waves,  and still our own souls so we can hear Your sweet whispers of love.
