Welcome to another year of the Bais Yaakov e-Newsletter
Dear Bais Yaakov Parents and Friends,

We hope you and your families enjoyed a restful and fulfilling summer.

Baruch Hashem, Bais Yaakov has just completed 75 years of providing excellence in education. As a new school year begins, we are proud to present another year of the Bais Yaakov e-Newsletter. It is our hope that it will provide you with a window into the excitement and wonderful happenings going on at Bais Yaakov throughout the year.
Our inspired and wonderfully talented Principals, Coordinators, Moros and Teachers are committed to providing our students with a comprehensive Torah and General Studies education. Truthfully, only an actual visit to either school campus will help one appreciate the sights and sounds of Bais Yaakov. While pictures and words can only accomplish so much in this regard, it is our goal to have you share in the nachas and growth of our students throughout the year, by way of the e-Newsletter. In addition, school calendar items and other relevant information will be included.

Until after Sukkos, the weekly newsletter will include news and information from all divisions within the school. Following the Yomim Tovim, each issue of the weekly newsletter will be dedicated to one of the four divisions: Lower Elementary School, Upper Elementary School, Middle School and High School, on a rotating basis. Using this schedule, over the course of a four week period, each division will be featured in its own monthly newsletter.

We look forward to sharing the Bais Yaakov e-Newsletter throughout the year, so that parents, grandparents, friends, and supporters can read all about the wonderful things taking place at our Bais Yaakov.

EXCITEMENT IN THE LOWER ELEMENTARY IS PALPABLE

The excitement over the beginning of school was palpable, as children and parents came out of their cars on the first day of school. Clean, smiling faces in new uniforms with all their new school supplies, girls of all ages and heights, poured into the building. This year brings with it the promise of new opportunities and much more hands on involvement with each child and their parents. We look forward to offering you, our parents, communication that will bring success for every student.

AMAZING GROWTH IN OUR LOWER ELEMENTARY DIVISION

Bais Yaakov Lower Elementary now has seven parallel classes at each grade level with every   classroom capped at 22 students. We cannot thank the lay leadership, parents and supporters of our school enough, for supporting the new configuration of the elementary school so that each child will receive the attention and focus which she richly deserves.

4TH GRADE STUDENTS ARE BEAMING WITH EXCITEMENT

We welcome Morah Esther Feldheim to our 4th Grade faculty! Already her talmidos are beaming with excitement for the engaging manner with which she energizes them to get closer to Hashem. Recently we had three girls from Morah Feldheim's class enter our office after performing a skit l'kavod Shabbos Kodesh!

5TH GRADE STUDENTS BUILD WITH MANIPULATIVES

The 5th Grade students began the year with a review on the concepts of place value in mathematics. Mrs. Rosenbluth, Miss Heber, and Mrs. Weiner challenged the students to see if they could build a house using 1,000 building units using manipulatives. The girls had a blast figuring out how to effectively utilize each unit, tens, and hundreds piece to build their homes. What a great activity!

INFORMATIVE TAG SESSIONS HELD

New teachers and parents came out to Bais Yaakov High School to learn about the challenges of  technology from Rabbi Zvi Schwartz and Rabbi Zev Steen of TAG (Technology Awareness Group). The sessions were informative and useful. We are so glad to partner with TAG in this effort to bring more awareness to the importance of vigilance in the area of safe technology use. We encourage all parents to find out all that TAG can offer your homes by visiting their office.

ASIFA FOR TEACHERS TO PREPARE FOR THE NEW YEAR

The entire Elementary, both Lower and Upper Divisions of the school, prepared for the new school year collectively with a wonderful asifa led by our Rabbanim of the Bais Yaakov Vaad Hachinuch: Rabbi Heinemann, Rabbi Berger, and Rabbi Hopfer. Each Rav encouraged the Moros and Teachers in their Avodas Hakodesh.

MRS. GERSTMAN'S CREATIVITY

The temporary wall which was constructed next to the Learning Center has been creatively decorated by Mrs. Gerstman. Why not try a game in Sudoku, Boggle or attempt the math challenge?

PICTURE PERFECT START IN THE MIDDLE SCHOOL

The launch of our school year was "picture perfect". It was such a delight to walk though the halls and hear the sound of real learning resonating throughout the school. Tremendous thanks goes to all of you for imbuing our enthusiastic Middle School students with an excitement for learning.

PARNAS HAYOM
SPONSOR A DAY OF DAVENING AND LEARNING

For centuries, Klal Yisroel has upheld the critical relationship between Torah learning and its support through the Parnas Hayom model of sponsorship, in which individuals share in the merit created by Torah study.  Together, Torah and Tefilla have always been the tried and true methods through which to invoke Divine assistance.  Bais Yaakov is proud to continue this longstanding tradition, by offering the opportunity to dedicate our students' daily davening and learning.

Sponsorship of a "Day's Davening and Learning" is a most appropriate way to mark a Yahrtzeit or another meaningful specific date.  Additional possibilities or occasions include when there is a need for Refua Shleima or the celebration of a Simcha.

The sponsorship of the day will be prominently displayed and publicly announced to students at Bais Yaakov.  In addition, an email announcement will be sent out to the community prior to the start of the school day.
