Byron Nelson Dazzlers perform in the first pep rally of the year
          
Dance clinic registration now open

The Byron Nelson Dazzlers, Eaton Sapphires and Northwest Sidekicks drill teams will each soon host a dance clinic, and registration is now open!

The Northwest Sidekicks will host a clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, while the Byron Nelson Dazzlers will host a clinic from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, and the Eaton Sapphires will host their clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. Registration begins at $25 for Byron Nelson's clinic and $35 for Eaton or Northwest's clinic.

Dr. Ryder Warren, district superintendent, recently sat down with NHSTV to discuss what's going on around Northwest ISD. The district continues to grow at a rapid rate, and it is now at more than 23,000 students, an increase of more than 1,000 students from the same time last year.

Cheer on sports teams at home or nearby
Northwest Texan fans cheer at a recent game

All three Northwest ISD varsity football games will play at the district stadium today or tomorrow, and many other athletic events are happening nearby as well!

The Eaton Eagles football team hosts its first home game of the year at 7 p.m. today, when they take on Frisco Independence. Tomorrow, the Byron Nelson Bobcats hosts the Northwest Texans in their football rivalry game at 7 p.m., also at Northwest ISD Stadium.

Many tennis and volleyball teams will play nearby today or tomorrow as well.  All three high school cross country teams will be in action this Saturday in Denton at the annual Ken Garland Invitational (get meet information here). Middle school musical taking place Sept. 29 and 30

Northwest ISD's annual middle school musical will host performances on Sept. 29 and 30, with students performing "Beauty and the Beast Jr.," a family-friendly production of the popular Disney movie.

Performances will take place at Byron Nelson High School, located at 2775 Bobcat Blvd. in Trophy Club, beginning with a 7 p.m. performance on Friday, Sept. 29. Two performances will follow on Saturday, Sept. 30 - the first at 1 p.m., followed by the second at 5 p.m. Tickets are just $5 for students and $10 for adults.

Registration for Reindeer Romp now open
Runners participate in the 2016 Reindeer Romp

Registration for Northwest ISD's 10th annual Reindeer Romp benefitting district physical education programs is now open, with the event itself scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9.

The event consists of two races, a 5K and 1 mile fun run. The latter race begins at 8:30 a.m., while the longer race begins at 9 a.m. Registration starts at $15 for students and $20 for adults through Saturday, Nov. 4. On Sunday, Nov. 5, prices increase to $20 for students and $25 for adults. Registrants can take part in either race or both races, if desired.

Community folder provides news and updates about third-party events

Northwest ISD's community folder, located at www.nisdtx.org/communityfolder, provides district families with information about events and services in the area that are hosted by third parties (and not Northwest ISD).

These events include camps, sporting offerings, local business services and more. Simply click the "Approved Flyers" link (click the "+" icon on smartphones and mobile devices) to view all the current or upcoming events and services. Local organizations and businesses can also provide information on this website to offer their flyers for distribution in the community folder.
