Small Group Bible Study - Meetings start Friday!
There's still time to join one of the small group Bible study groups. This year we're using a curriculum called The Path, which is a condensed version of the Bible allowing you to read the entire arc of the Old and New Testaments in three 8-week segments. Small group Bible studies are a great way to become more familiar with scripture, meet new friends, and discover how God's story is alive within your own life story in new and life-giving ways.

Sign up today!
All welcome to join in!  For more information or to sign-up, contact the Rev. Chris Harris ,858-487-2159.

Grow in Faith: Be a Confirmation Mentor
Are you searching for a way to explore your own spirituality? Do you long to ask questions about faith? Consider being a mentor for a high-school confirmation candidate. Confirmation is a rite in the Episcopal Church that marks a person's adult commitment to the Christian faith. Each high school candidate will be paired with an adult who will be a reflection partner, and a prayer partner. You don't have to know all the answers! If you are open to asking questions about God, interested in deepening your own understanding of faith, and doing it in a small group of other mentors, please contact the Rev. Mary Lynn Coulson.

Choral Evensong
Sunday, October 1, 4 p.m.
Choral Evensong is often called one of the great treasures of the Anglican tradition.  A fusion of the ancient monastic evening prayers (Vespers and Compline), Evensong is a quiet service of reflection, song, and prayer at the close of the day led by the choir. We will celebrate Choral Evensong (and other special services, such as Advent Lessons and Carols) on the first Sunday of each month, October through June, followed by a light reception.

October 1 Evensong will include music by Herbert Howells, and two contemporary compositions by the Estonian composer Arvo Part and American composer Craig Phillips. All are welcome to this festive first Evensong of the year; following Evensong will feature a short discussion on the State of the Music at St. Bart's, hosted by Director of Liturgy and Music, Nathan Costa.

Angel Tree Ministry Looking for Volunteers
Art Donations Wanted
Members of St. Bart's are encouraged to donate surplus art to the Thrift Shop Ministry. Art can be donated at the Thrift Shop on Poway Road or the Gallery at St. Bart's. The Thrift Shop is open 7 days a week and the Gallery is open between services on Sundays. You can also make arrangements for art to be picked up at your location.

The Thrift Shop is fortunate to have two volunteers that are knowledgeable in handling art. Each piece is examined to determine the best place to sell it to maximize the financial return. Some that are believed to be appealing to church members are displayed at the Gallery, others are displayed in the Thrift Shop. Art of more general value are sold through eBay. Those pieces of exceptional value are sold through professional art auctions or art galleries. One donated piece this year sold for over $1,400 at an auction. In recent years donated art has become an important revenue source for the Thrift Shop and members are encouraged to continue this practice. For further information please contact the Thrift Shop Manager, Laurie, 858-486-2110.
