VIDEO: Cordova High remembers 9/11 victims with tribute
On Sept. 11, 2017, the AF JROTC cadets and the school choir at Cordova High School paid tribute to those that lost their lives sixteen years ago in the 9/11 attacks.

An American Flag with 3,000 names of those that perished in the attacks was raised at half-mast during a ceremony.

The National Anthem was sung by the school choir led by Mrs. Melanie Huber.

Master Sgt. Phil Magreevy who teaches the ROTC class at Cordova High addressed the crowd about the importance of paying tribute and remembering those that lost their lives and the thousands that were injured in the 9/11 attacks.

VIDEO: Rancho Cordova students show support for officers
Our schools in Rancho Cordova wanted to show their support of local law enforcement during a difficult time so they made officers over 2,000 cards thanking them for their service.

Rancho Cordova Police  support our schools in so many ways, not just by keeping our community safe, but academically by visiting our schools often and offering students special incentives.

This effort to show support for officers was organized by Rancho Cordova Elementary School Principal Larry Mahoney. His school, along with Cordova Gardens, Cordova Meadows, Mather Heights Academy, and Navigator Elementary made cards for officers.

The Student Council from Rancho Cordova Elementary delivered all of the cards last week and also toured the police department.

One simple form can increase your school funding
Does your child attend one of the following schools?
  • Cordova Gardens Elementary
  • Cordova Meadows Elementary
  • Cordova Villa Elementary
  • Mills Middle School
  • Peter J. Shields Elementary
  • Rancho Cordova Elementary
  • White Rock Elementary
  • Williamson Elementary
If so, you may have been asked to complete an "alternative income eligibility" form for your school. This ensures your school receives the most amount of funding available from the state, which is used to increase services for your school, including intervention teachers, academic coaches, special programs, technology, field trips and more!

We need your help: Without everyone's participation, your school may not receive all of the funding it is entitled to from the state - meaning fewer services for our students.

Confidential: We will never share your information with anyone. Our system is confidential, and you can return your form in a sealed envelope if requested. You also can fill out the form online in the privacy of your home .

Complete the form: Click here to complete the form online, or call your school. You may also call our Categorical Programs department at (916) 294-9000.
