Let Your Voice Be Heard – What is Your Vision of the Future Church?
On the weekend of September 23-24 you will have two opportunities to share you thoughts on the future of our church. On Saturday, September 23 you are invited to an all-day (9-3) retreat where the Church Council will be working with consultant, Reverend Dr. Claire Bamberg to discern what God is calling our church to do and what the best practices are to answer that call. This retreat will be held at Silver Lake Conference Center. Everyone is welcome. Lunch will be provided.
On Sunday, September 24, Reverend Kent Siladi, CTUCC Conference Minister will be our guest preacher.
He has asked for time, following worship, to hear from the congregation about our vision for the church and how the Connecticut Conference might support that vision. If you would like to join me in talking with Reverend Siladi after worship, please let me know.

Why Did We Change the Doxology and
Gloria Patri?
For those of you who were present in church on September 10, you know that we sang a new version of the Doxology and Gloria Patri. The newer versions are #584 and #607 in our hymnal. The new versions were adopted as part of an effort by the Deacons to move toward gender-neutral language for God and the Holy Spirit. I have also changed the language of my post-scripture blessing and final benediction to reflect this. Gender-neutral language and the assignment of pronouns is a respectful way to include all of God’s children in our worship.
