The
Chairman's Corner
by Jason M. Shepherd

This week we remembered the nearly 3,000 who lost their lives 16 years ago on September 11, 2001. This year, that remembrance came again at a time of national strife as Hurricane Irma bared down on Florida and Georgia. It is at times like these that we truly see the greatness of Americans.

Sixteen years ago, Americans came together and stood as one against a common enemy. We also pitched in and volunteered, donated our time and funds to help shattered lives begin to rebuild.

We saw that same spirit again last week after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. We will see that again in the aftermath of Irma. The media would love to continue to portray an American that's hopelessly divided, but when faced with adversity, we find an American that is hopefully united.

Please continue to keep those still trying to recover from Harvey and now Irma in your thoughts and prayers and we will also be posting on our Facebook page ways you can help out.

Also, see below for a great event for Congressman Barry Loudermilk on Saturday. You may have heard that Barry and his wife Desiree were involved in a rollover crash in Tennessee today, but, thankfully, neither were injured.

Have a great Republican week!

Yours in Freedom,

null

This month the Cobb YRs are please to welcome the K Sierra Leone from Convention of States Action.

Convention of States Action is a non-profit organization founded for the purpose of stopping the runaway power of the federal government. We believe Washington, D.C., is broken and will not fix itself. The federal government is spending this country into the ground, seizing power from the states and taking liberty from the people. We have a solution that is as big as the problem! Article V requires that 34 states pass resolutions to call a convention of states on the same subject, before the meeting will be called. We are working with state legislators around the country to call a convention for a specific subject: Limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.

Goal: Convention of States Action (COSA) seeks to urge and empower state legislators to call a convention of states. Delegates to the convention will have power to propose amendments to the Constitution that would curb the abuses of the federal government. Article V of the Constitution gives them this power; the COS Project will give them an avenue through which they can use it.

K. Sierra Leone, Georgia State Director, join the Georgia Leadership Team in February 2017 and has been a long time supporter of Convention of State. She has accepted our invitation and looks forward to the opportunity to come speak with us about Convention of States.

There might also be a chance to hear from various campaigns about this upcoming election cycle.

Three local youth charities will benefit from the tournament supported by private funds as business and other civic leaders join together to support this major fundraising event.

  • Young Life of Cherokee County
  • CSF Alaska Youth Missions

Join with us in making an impact on the next generation of youth in metro Atlanta communities.

Sporting Clays Charity Classic

Sporting clay events are very similar to the proven model of golf tournaments yet a shotgun is used rather than golf clubs. The event held during the Fall season at Garland Mountain Sporting Clays located in Cherokee County, is the ideal venue for a Saturday shoot (Sunday has been reserved as the "Rain Day", if necessary).

The clay shoot includes a lunchtime auction and greeting by Republican candidates who volunteer to serve our state in  Making America Great Again!

Supporting Shooter $150/ per person
Supporting Squad $600 per 4-man team
Non-Shooter Spouse $50 each

Group sponsorship levels include:
