Welcome to Efrat Feferman who will take the helm as Executive Director of United Way on September 18th.

United Way Announces Efrat Feferman as new Executive Director

United Way of Monroe County will soon welcome Efrat Feferman as the new Executive Director. Barry Lessow, who has been the Executive Director since 2004, announced he will retire from his position in mid-September. Lessow will continue to serve the organization in a part-time role through the end of the year to assist with the transition. Feferman has been a board member of United Way, as well as a volunteer with the organization's annual campaign, agency certification, granting, and Emergency Food and Shelter programs.

United we fight. United we win. Will you join the fight?

United We Fight. United We Win.

United Way's annual campaign kicks off this month. Together we fight to address the growing needs in our community. Together we can improve the quality and life for every person in our community.

We fight
  • because 41% of local schoolchildren qualify for free or reduced school lunch and their hunger doesn't stop on week nights or weekends.
  • because 85% of brain growth happens by age five and robust early learning experiences should be available to all children regardless of income.
  • to keep our neighbors healthy because even with federal programs like Medicaid or the Affordable Care Act thousands of our neighbors have inadequate healthcare coverage or none at all.
Will you join the fight?
