Harlem Globetrotters
The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their one-of-a-kind family entertainment to LETHBRIDGE, AB when their 2017 World Tour comes to the ENMAX CENTRE on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 at 7PM.

SportFest 2017
SportFest 2017 was held on August 19th at the Servus Sports Centre.  Thank you to the Lethbridge Sport Council, Servus Sports Centre, ENMAX Centre, Swirls Lethbridge, Booster Juice and all the local businesses and sport organizations that made SportFest such a great day!
Congratulations to Trish Provost, the winner of the Harlem Globetrotters tickets, and to Colby Graveland and Alyssa Wilson, winners of the sport registration credits from SportFest and Booster Juice!
Last but not least, a huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success!  Stay tuned for information about SportFest 2018!
Roving Gyms
As a collaboration between Lethbridge Sport Council, Lethbridge Early Year's Coalition and the Lethbridge Public Library,  "Roving Gyms" offer a free indoor play space for parents and caregivers of preschool aged children.  This program will encourage physical literacy, allow families to connect with other families, while children to have a great time playing!
Parents in Sport Week
October 2-8 is Parents in Sport Week! Active for Life celebrates all the parents who make community sport and physical activity happen for kids. Whether it's driving kids to practices and games, organizing events, or providing their child with a listening and supportive ear, parents are important in making sport and activity happen. 
Recognizing Female Athletes in the Community
The Champions Fund was created by Dairy Farmers of Canada to empower the female athletic community, to provide a resource that can help change the game for Canada's young girls and women athletes.

In 2017, the Champions Fund will award $5,000 grants to 30 deserving female athletes, teams, or organizations, providing the financial support needed to pursue their athletic goals.

Choosewell Winner!
Congratulations to the City of Lethbridge for being selected as a Choosewell Healthy Community Award recipient for 2017.  The City of Lethbridge, along with the Town of Ponoka and the Town of Claresholm were selected in the 'Creating Supportive Environments' category.  Kudos to the city for their initiatives such as the new outdoor gyms, the bike repair stations and the edible forests!
Winner of the iPad
Thanks to all the local sport organizations for filling out our sport survey this summer, and entering to win an iPad.  Congratulations to Lethbridge North Little League, for winning the iPad!  We are now working on the survey results, and look forward to learning from the information collected.

Lace'Em Up Foundation
Lace'Em Up is a national charitable program, helping financially disadvantaged children play hockey by paying for registration fees and providing equipment for each child. The Lace'Em Up Foundation for Kids is dedicated to increase youth hockey participation rates for financially disadvantaged kids.  Applications for assistance can be submitted until October 31 for fall/winter programs

Scholorship Breakfast
The Pronghorns Scholarship Breakfast is the premiere annual fundraising event for Pronghorn Athletics. The support generated by the event helps with both recruitment and retention, allowing Pronghorn Athletics the opportunity to compete at the highest level in Canada West and U SPORTS.  All proceeds from the breakfast support student-athlete scholarships.

Funding Opportunity
The Recreation and Physical Activity Project Grant supports projects that foster cooperation, innovation and research in your recreation and physical activity programming.  The submission deadline is October 15th.

International Walk to School Month
International Walk to School Month (IWALK) is an annual global event taking place each October. It is a mass celebration of active transportation and its related issues are used to introduce communities to the Active & Safe Routes to School (ASRTS) program.
