Assistance for Hurricane Disasters 

It's sad to see the mass amount of devastation and destruction caused by the recent hurricanes. With so many options for giving, where do you direct your donations to? Here are some options to consider from the Council on Foundations 
We Have a New Team Member!

Please join us in welcoming the newest member to the Community Foundation team, Danielle Hoske, DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP) Program AssistantDanielle is a recent graduate from Northern Illinois University (NIU) and an alumnus of the DCNP-NGOLD Internship Program.

Youth Philanthropy Orientation - 

High school youth are invited to attend the first official Youth Engaged in Philanthropy meeting for the 2017/2018 year. YEP Orientation is on Sunday, September 17, from 2 - 4:30 p.m. RSVP by September 14 to attend!

Your Feedback Shapes Our Future

As with any good plan, input from the people you serve is of utmost importance. With that in mind, we are being intentional with our time over the next several months to meet with each of the communities we serve.

Youth Resources in the Community 

You're invited! Join us for breakfast and then for an opportunity to learn more about youth services in DeKalb County. 20+ youth serving organizations will present! Closing remarks will include the latest trends in cyber-bullying and the dangers of mobile apps for teens from Sycamore Police Detective Joe Meeks. Hope to see you there! Open to the public.

Nonprofit Programs and Trainings

This is an exciting time of year for nonprofits in DeKalb County as DCNP launches a variety of NEW programs and training. If you're passionate about nonprofit organizations, be sure to see what's coming up!

Nominate Them for Excellence! 

Show your appreciation for a teacher, administrator, or support staff by nominating them for an Excellence in Education award! Categories include    teacher grades Pre-K-5, 6-8, and 9-12, school support staff, and administration. Thank you to Yvonne Johnson for her generosity in making these annual awards possible!
