September News
Hello Newcomers & Neighbors of the Andovers!

Welcome back to another great year with the club, it's crazy that another summer has quickly come to an end! Whether you are a new member or a returning family, we hope to see you out and about this fall at our kick-off events! Our group organizers are busy planning upcoming events that are going to start the season off right!

There were some changes to the N & N board from last Spring, some amazing board members have finished their terms and some great new ones jumped on board! We still have some open positions on the board and would love to see them filled as soon as possible.  President, Vice President, and Publicity/Community Outreach are open and waiting for the willing Newcomers and Neighbors member to volunteer! The best way to get to know your neighbors is to get involved in your community.  What better way to do that then volunteer with Newcomers and Neighbors?  For more information on open positions, please contact us at [email protected].

As usual, please keep an eye out for your event coordinator e-mails to arrive!
-Nicole Stewart

Empty Nesters
Nesters are looking healthy at this time of year.  New England is the best place to be in the summer.  Water and sunshine, good for flowers and good for people.  One such beautiful day we Nesters met at the summer home of Joyce Leary.  A beautiful beach day to be sure.

Moms & Tots

Moms and Tots is looking forward to another fun year. We want to extend a warm welcome to our new coordinators, Kelly Michaud and Laura Chabot! We are so grateful to have them lead this group this year and look forward to lots of fun events.

Kelly lives in Andover with her husband Dave and girls Avery (4) and Caroline (1.5 years). Kelly teaches yoga locally and is interested in interior design.

Laura also lives in Andover with her husband Matt, son Evan (7), and daughters Sadie (5) and Annabelle (2).

As the big kids head back to school we are excited to begin a new year of Moms and Tots!  The kick-off event will be held at Ballardvale Playground on Wednesday, September 13th  from 9:30-11:30am.  Please note the change in original location as Penguin Park will be closing briefly in September to install new playground equipment. Feel free to bring a friend who may be interested in learning more about our group!  We will have snacks and drinks.

Other September activities will include apple picking at Rogers Spring Hill Farm in Haverhill and our first home coffee.  As we move into fall we will pumpkin pick at Smolak Farms, attend the DCS Halloween Party, "Too Cute to Spook," and surprise families with a Boo!  Please feel free to email us if you ever have any questions or suggestions.

We look forward to meeting new moms and reconnecting with friends this month!

WANTED: Publicity/Community Outreach Chair(s)

The Club is currently looking for a motivated, outgoing member(s) to chair (or co-chair) our Publicity & Community Outreach Committee. This is a great way to support local businesses and get the word out about our Club!  In the past we have done this by sponsoring/creating a club team in local walks/races such as The Trot For Special Tots,  The Krit Classic, and Step-Up For Colleen. We created a Moms and Tots Scarecrow through ACE, had a booth at Andover Day, donated food to Neighbors in Need, collected presents for Project Bethlehem through Lazarus House and collected toys for the Community Giving Tree. We have passed out our N & N postcards to local Realtors and businesses.  We've hung flyers at local businesses with N &N information (if you go to Starbucks often, this one would be easy!).   All of this is crucial to keeping our club up and running and all that we want it to be!   Does this role interest you? Do you have a friend that you would like to co-chair this with? If so, please contact me at [email protected]

WANTED: President
