Welcome to the League of Women Voters of Connecticut Monthly Update!

LWVCT wants to keep you up to date on what we are doing.  During the first week of each month, we'll be sending you highlights of our most current action items and events.

FALL CONFERENCE: "Connecticut's Fiscal Crisis - We Are There...and What Can We Do?"
will take place on October 14, 2017 at the Thornton Wilder Hall in Hamden from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Register now at: http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=9fwwkqbab&oeidk=a07eekjptv6de0ccb37

CALL TO ACTION: The Citizens Election Program (CEP) is being threatened by proposed cuts in the budget. The Citizens' Election Program (CEP) gives grants to run state campaigns. The funding comes from the sale of abandoned/unclaimed property in the state (not from taxes). The program is voluntary. It's the best state elections funding program in the country.

Call your state Senator and Representative and urge them to vote to keep CEP!

SEPTEMBER 12 IS PRIMARY DAY: Some towns and cities will be holding Democratic and/or Republican Primary elections. Contact your Registrar of Voters or Town Clerk to find out if there will be a Primary in your district and then VOTE.
