Dear Parents,

The 2017-2018 school year is off to a great start! The children are adjusting to their schedules,
Pre-K has begun, and the hallways are full of smiling children. This warms my heart!

This year I would like to focus on a spiritual theme for our students and teachers; one that we focus on in our work of formation in faith. Our theme for this year is: "Sharing positivity through Acts of Love."

The quote chosen as the legacy left to us from the Graduates of the Class of 2017 this year is:

"Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong. Your every act should be with love."
Corinthians 16:13-14

As I will be making my way into every classroom to speak to the children about sharing Acts of Love and spreading positivity, I encourage you, as parents, to also consider this theme in your role as the first educators in faith for your children.

Faithfully Yours,

Miss Giaquinto

Walkathon 2017

We are currently planning our Annual SCSS 2017 Walkathon. The Walkathon will take place on Friday, October 27th from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on the school grounds.

This event is one of our most successful fall fundraisers.
Last year we were able to purchase air conditioners for all the classrooms!

We would like some of the funds raised this year to go towards upgrades to the playground, outdoor shed for gym equipment/storage, Buddy Benches, and classroom resources for indoor recess.

You do not need to be at the event to help. There are many jobs needed behind the scenes!

Please consider joining in the fun.

Our Blessed Mother Mary

Tomorrow, Friday, September 8th, the Church celebrates the birthday of Our Blessed Mother.  Mary was born to be the mother our savior, the spiritual mother to all of us, and the holiest of God's creatures. She was conceived and born immaculate and full of grace. Through Mary, Queen of heaven and of earth, all grace is given to us.

We celebrate her birthday, as the Church has done from the earliest times. This is one of the three birthdays in the Church Calendar - the Birth of Jesus (December 25), the Birth of John the Baptist (June 24) and the Birthday of Mary (September 8).  The children will be celebrating Mary in their classrooms tomorrow.

Mary Queen of Heaven Pray for Us!

" Be who God meant for you to be  and  you will set the world on fire."
