"Marvin Scott has seen it all. He's a born storyteller who gives a fresh perspective on life's everyday experiences that have shaped us all. Dan Rather (he wrote the foreword) probably best describes him best. 'The dictionary describes intrepid as being of resolute fearlessness, fortitude, and endurance. That is exactly how to describe Marvin Scott's journey as a lifelong reporter-and to describe the man himself. It fits Marvin like a bespoke suit.'"

Excerpt:
"
Know That What You Eat You Are Of course, a compilation of the best food articles published in Harper's Magazine (over the past 167 years!) includes the work of a few literary lions. Upton Sinclair, Michael Pollan, David Foster Wallace--yep, the gang's all here. Less expected: the welcome dose of wit provided by more obscure authors, like Susan Dooley writing about Jackie Kennedy's seafood-and-potato-chip casserole. ($17; Franklin Square Press)"
(9/16) Green Writers Press will be featured at the Burlington Book Festival. There will also be a panel with GWP authors (Tim Weed, Nancy Hayes Kilgore, Cardy Raper, and a feature on the late Vermont poet/author David Budbill), moderated by Dede Cummings.

"This funny yet thought-provoking book includes contributions from notable Vermonters such as former governor Madeleine Kunin, Vermont Life Magazine editor emeritus Tom Slayton and Seven Days writer Sally Pollak."
(9/12) Reading at Phoenix Books (Rutland VT). 6:30pm.
"This was my favourite book among my summer reading, not least because of its intelligent philosophical discussion of the puzzles of modern physics. Modern scientists are working on a reconciliation of Einstein's general relativity with the equations of quantum field theory. While they have been unable to join together the two sets of equations, Feser makes an intriguing suggestion about the big picture that could prove to be most helpful for future researchers."
(9/15) Interview scheduled with Wake Up! on Catholic Community Radio. Air date TBD.
