ISPTSA General Meeting

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
I was at a meeting the other night where the discussion centered on volunteers and PTSA. It was interesting in the fact that at the elementary school level, PTSA provides volunteers for all the extracurricular programs offered in-classroom teacher support.
That is so not the case in middle and High school.
I am here to state:
PTSA membership
≠
Volunteering at IS
.
As we strive for 100% PTSA membership, what we are really asking is 100% of our community supporting IS. We will ask our community for volunteers at times, but as a PTSA member, you are more important to us as a community. Please become a part of our IS community today
.
If you would see the benefits of being a part of our community, please come to our General membership Meeting October 3
rd
, 6:00-8:30 pm. All are welcome.

ISPTSA MEMBERSHIP NEWS
Our goal this year is 100% Membership in PTSA of our IS community. That means we need 580 PTSA members. How does it work? Simple, we need one member for every student.
Dual membership of $35 supports two students. Single membership of $20 supports one student.
ISPTSA has kicked off our new year almost 200 supportive parents and guardians becoming or renewing their membership with ISPTSA. THANK YOU!
There was a bit of confusion last week in listing just a few members so as we gather all the names for publication next week, please remember to get in your PTSA membership
.
We are counting on you to meet our 100% GOAL. Any questions, please contact Joanie at membership@isptsa.org.

CHECK OUT DIRECTORY SPOT!
The ISPTSA provides an online directory of all families at our school. This is provided through an app called DirectorySpot. This is our second year using this and we are very pleased with the continually updated information we can provide to our IS community. This app is free of charge and is available to every family at IS whether you are a PTSA member or not. Please go to our
website to get the instructions. For families that are continuing on at IS, all information has been updated. For new families, your updated information will be in DirectorySpot by September 15
th.
Thank you for supporting ISPTSA

DON'T BE A DISTRACTED DRIVER IN THE PARKING LOT
IS is committed to safety in its parking lot, and would like to bring your
 attention to the
new driver distracted law. If people are driving in the parking lot and using the phone with their hands, the law applies. Here is the link from the WA state PTSA about this:
