THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED WITH OUR COMMEMORATIVE PINNING EVENT AT BEECH RIDGE MOTOR SPEEDWAY! We are honored to pay tribute to our Vietnam Veterans!

Veterans Count Maine is proud to be a Commemorative Partner with The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.  As a Commemorative Partner, Veterans Count is part of a team of more than 9,000 organizations dedicated to assisting the nation in thanking and honoring our 7.2 million living Vietnam veterans and the 9 million families of those who served.   Learn more and take a listen to our daily Vietnam Minute on WGAN Radio on our website.

We are selling sponsored wreaths for Veterans gravesites through Wreaths Across America which will also help fundraise for our programs. Sponsor a wreath for a Maine Veteran's gravesite or order a "Patriot Pair" and include a wreath for your own home- it truly is the ultimate gift from the heart.

Does a company you know  give corporate gifts? H ow about a wreath that benefits two great Maine nonprofits as well as remembers a Veteran during the holidays?

. . . . . Vermont . . . .
One VT Veterans Count Success Story--A veteran, his partner, and two small children were evicted from their home when the fire marshall came and deemed the structure unsafe. Everyone was left homeless. They tried to camp, but that proved too difficult with 1 and a 2 year old sons. The VA put him up in a motel for five days and referred him to the Supportive Services for Veteran Familys (SSVF) program. He was contacted by Karen Gillam, as a part of SSVF outreach, and he was enrolled. Since SSVF has no funds for emergencies, Easterseals Veterans Count paid for a motel room for one week for them. It is expected that SSVF will be able to provide them with housing very soon. The veteran gets his 100% VA disability payment on the first of the month, so can take care of his housing needs for at least the beginning of the month.
