Owner Update Fort Tortola BVI Fleet

Insurance update:

We have already been in touch with our insurance agent s at Falvey Insurance. Falvey not only handle Catamaran Charters ' insurance but also insure the majority of the major Caribbean charter companies. They have confirmed to us that the decision has been made that the companies should submit an overall list of their fleet and the damages to it rather than piecemeal, individual claims. They have confirmed that they will deal with Catamaran Charters as the representative of all claims on our policy rather than with individual vessel owners. Our next step is therefore a comprehensive report from our staff in the BVI.

Charter Customers are contacting us.  We are responding like this for the moment:

"As you are no doubt aware, many of the Caribbean Islands, including the British Virgin Islands, have been badly damaged by Hurricane Irma. Our primary focus both before and since the storm has been to ensure the safety and security of our staff and we are happy to report that they are all safe and well although communication continues to be difficult. We have sustained significant damage to our base location and our boats but as this point cannot be specific about just how bad damage sustained was. It will take a number of days for us to complete this evaluation and no longer term decisions can be made until we have that information. We do however have a significant number of new yachts already enroute to the BVIs and can report that there was no damage to any of those vessels and they will be in the BVI's in time for the Winter season. We also have additional cats at our location in Florida that are being being mobilized should they be needed in the BVI. While we expect there to be some alterations to some plans for our guests, we are expecting to be running relatively normal operations in time for the Winter season.

There is no current effect to our US operations, although we are currently closed due to the approach of Hurricane Irma due to our offices being based in Ft Lauderdale. By Tuesday Sept 12th our US offices expect to be back to normal hours. Should you feel that you wish to change, alter or cancel your charter then please let us know and we will deal with them as in the normal course of business."
