Under the leadership of LTC Titus Brown, the MP JROTC Raider Team traveled to Jackson County High School for their first competition of the year.

MP upper level energy pathway students are working on subsystems of their electrathon car! Students are getting prepared for the first race at Technology Student Association Fall Leadership Conference this November. The team is in need of sponsors to cover competition costs. Congratulations to MP Students Chosen to Appear in State Drama Competition, Thescon
Two MP students, Stephanie Nix and Leia Williams, were among this year's elite Georgia drama students selected to appear in cast and crew  of this year's Opening Number at Thescon.  At Thescon, a statewide competition of Georgia's best thespians and technical support positions in theater, over 80 schools sent over 200 students, and 75 students across the state made the cut. Under the direction of MP Drama Teacher Holly Spires, these two MP students, Stephanie Nix and Leia Williams, were selected for this honor.
 Two officers represented MPHS: Naomi Sanders & Bethany Edwards.  Four students auditioned for a role in the Opening Showcase (pictured above):  Beau Watson, Leia Williams, Sunny Devane and Stephanie Nix.  Congratulations to these students and MP as the legacy of fine arts continues to grow.

Monroe County Schools welcomed Leadership Monroe last week.  The group learned about operations of our schools, and they toured classrooms at elementary, middle, and high school levels.

A Message from Monroe County Schools Nurses:
 It's Time to Plan for Flu Vaccinations

The CDC recommends a flu shot each year. Click here for information on Influenza from the CDC.  Monroe County Schools will be partnering with the Monroe County Health Department to provide flu vaccinations to children at school this year. The flu vaccination clinic will be Wednesday, September 27 through Friday, September 29.  Consent forms should be returned to school by September 15 th .  The only vaccination available for the flu is now the shot. Flu mist is no longer available.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to get your child vaccinated, so your family can stay healthy this winter.  To see the full schedule of flu vaccinations, see our website. 
Superintendent Parent and Community Advisory Council and Faculty and Staff Advisory Council
Thank you to the Superintendent Parent and Community Advisory Council as well as the Faculty and Staff Advisory Council who met this week with Superintendent Dr. Hickman and central office staff.  The groups provide feedback regarding school system operations and protocols.  If you would like to participate or volunteer in our schools, see our website for more information.

Monroe County Schools Nutrition Service provides an online payment option for families.  MyPaymentsPlus provides an easy-to-use, efficient way to make payments quickly and securely anytime. You can say goodbye to the hassles of sending in multiple checks to multiple locations for multiple students. It can all be done with one payment on MyPaymentsPlus. MyPaymentsPlus also allows the ability to receive free low balance emails and, in most cases, view the purchases made in the cafeteria online.  This service is found at https://www2.mypaymentsplus.com/welcome.  Sign up today!
Infinite Campus Parent Portal:  Are you tracking your student's attendance and grades?
Have you established  Infinite Campus Parent Portal access?  Track attendance and grades of all of your students in a single login.  Make sure your email address is on file, and look for instructions via email.  Find the Infinite Campus Parent app in Google Play Store or Apple App Store.  When signed in as a student, users view schedule, grades, attendance, reports, and demographic data for that student.  They cannot update information.  They cannot access the Online Registration application.  For directions on setting up student Infinite Campus access, click here.  
When signed in as a parent, the user has ability to access information for all of their students with one login.  They can also access update household and family members information, if on a computer.  Through a computer interface, they can also access  Online Registration application to provide proof of residency documentation, update emergency contact information, and more.
