Spiritual Cinema & Discussion : Friday evening, September 8th, at 7 p.m., St. Luke's Parish Hall, 1946 Welsh Road in Philadelphia. This marks spiritual cinema's first presentation of various "short" films for our viewing audience. These films range in duration from about 5 to 15 minutes each, but manage to tell inspiring, thought provoking stories.

Highlighted films include, but are not limited to, "Di Algo" (Say Something), which is a Spanish film with English subtitles, "The Tea Cup," and "McCombie Way." A   documentary on the Hajj , the 5-day pilgrimage made by Muslims to the holy city of Mecca, will be shown at the  First Friday Adult Faith Forum  on  September 8 at the  Church of the  Holy Spirit, Harleysville .

The evening begins with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the video and discussion. Join us as we view the PBS documentary by Bruce Feiler, American writer and columnist, who follows a group of American Muslims who ventured on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. The Hajj, when millions of pilgrims recreate the footsteps of the prophets Abraham and Mohammed, is as one of the five pillars of Islam.

Rummages/Fairs/Flea Markets

Rummages
Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Chestnut Hill's The Rummage Sale will take place on Saturday, September 9th from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is $2 at the door. In addition to the Saturday Sale, a Rummage Pre-Sale event will be held the night before.

On Friday, September 8th, from 6 until 9 p.m., shoppers can peruse and buy items in all departments. Light snacks and drinks will be served, and admission is just $15 at the door. The net proceeds the sale each year are distributed in the form of outreach grants to non-profit organizations fighting hunger and homelessness in our area. 

Some of these organizations include: Aid for Friends, Chestnut Hill Meals on Wheels, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Face to Face in Germantown. Saint Paul's Church is located at 22. Wilmington Concert Opera invites everyone to attend an exciting and fun
Musical Theatre Concert on
September 16th at 7:30 p.m. at
Trinity Episcopal Church (301 N Chester Rd, Swarthmore, PA 19081). 

The concert will feature solos, duets, and quartets from Golden Age show tunes to modern day musical theatre hits. Sopranos Tracy Sturgis and Kirsten C. Kunkle are the featured singers, with baritone Matthew Maisano and tenor David Price as guest artists. Kirsten Halker-Kratz will play piano for the concert. The concert is free and open to the public, with free will donations accepted.

A Celebration of New Ministry . On September 17, 2017 we will be celebrating with The Rt. Rev. Daniel G. P. Gutiérrez as he visits St. Michael's and Yeadon for the first time. The mass will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following the service. The Bishop will confirm, receive, and reaffirm members into God's Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. Our Bishop will also preside over the celebration of a new ministry for our 6th Rector, The Rev. Jordan F. Casson.

An Introduction to the Enneagram will be offered this fall at St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church, 689 Sugartown Rd., Malvern. Classes will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sundays, beginning September 17, with complimentary childcare provided.

The Enneagram is an ancient tool for exploring personalities, motivations, spiritual gifts and struggles. The insight it offers strengthens relationships through a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. Led by Donna and Fr. Kevin Dellaria, this 13-week course follows renowned teacher Suzanne Stabile's "The Enneagram Journey" DVD series and is great for both individuals and couples. Cost of the course is $40.00, which includes the companion workbook and other materials.

Attention, Good Samaritans!  St. Mark's, Frankford needs your help in filling these  "Blessings Bags" for distribution to those in need. Please help us make these empty bags overflow with kindness, as well as: bottled water, soap, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, individually wrapped 'wet ones', individual snacks, combs, pocket packs of tissues, tampons, sanitary napkins and hand sanitizer.

When a person is faced with housing problems, with troubles and issues that are overwhelming and with nowhere to go...nowhere to turn...they feel lost, misplaced and forgotten. By providing this little bit of comfort, we can make someone feel better. With one little bag, we can offer a glimmer of hope...and joy...and peace.

Saint Clement's Church , 20th & Cherry Streets, welcomes you to Sunday Vespers and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 4 p.m. Vespers is chanted entirely in Latin. This weekly service is followed by sherry and light refreshments.

Grace Epiphany Church is located in Mount Airy at 224 East Gowen Avenue. It is within walking distance of the Mount Airy Train station and the Route 23 bus stop. Grace Epiphany has A Large Light Filled Auditorium (Cline) with a Stage. It is connected to a restaurant size, fully equipped kitchen. Cline has a capacity of at least 125 people.

Additionally, there is a large conference room and four smaller conference rooms. All of these rooms have been and are used for wedding receptions, meetings, showers, parties and other events. Our spaces are available for reasonable rental rates.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position will start at 16 hours per week that is compensated through use of a lovely 2 bedroom, duplex apartment on Church grounds. Duties include:
 
Building Maintenance:
Church, Sacistry, Rectory, Parish House & Offices.
Small handyman repairs: plumbing, electrical, painting, sanding, battery/bulb/filter replacement. Monitor heating/cooling units/ thermostats making sure they remain functional.
 
Keep all church, rectory and office entrances and yard clear of debris/litter. Keep leaves, sand, and dirt away from entrances. Maintain grounds, mow grass/ weed, prune, keep free of branches, leaves and litter.
 
Cleaning :
Church, Sacistry, Rectory & Offices
Rotate Vacuuming/Sweeping/Dusting/Mopping Cleaning. (Doing each at least once a week or more if needed)
Make sure all bathroom areas are clean and have adequate supplies as needed.
Make sure all trash is emptied and recycled in appropriate manner.
