Global Language NHS Officers

Congratulations to this year's Global Language National Honor Society (GLNHS) officers: Max Lowery, Sarah Ballard, Sophie Meyers, and Eddie Vraney. The GLNHS is an honor society for high school students enrolled in a global language class and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French and Spanish. The mission of the GLNHS is to recognize high school achievement in global language and to promote interest in International Studies.

Primary School Highlights

Summer Trip to Spain:
Informational Meeting for New Families
Families in 4th through 8th grade are invited to attend an informational meeting about our summer trip to Spain in 2018. Itinerary, registration, and other useful information will be provided to parents and families that could not attend the meeting in May, or are new to EDS.  Please join Sra. Silmary in the Middle School Spanish classroom (room 24) on  Thursday, September 7th at 3:15 pm.


Day School Community Highlights

Last Call for Mums!
All order forms and online orders for mums must be submitted by Tuesday, September 5. The mums will be available for pick up at the All School Picnic or until Wednesday, September 13. Don't wait, order your mums  online now! 




Friends PTO Meeting
Join us Wednesday, September 6 at 3:15 pm in the Alumni Room for the first Friends Meeting of the year! Child care is provided free of charge in the Primary School Library. 



All School Picnic

Evansville Day School's Friends organization would like to invite you to our annual All-School Picnic on  Sunday, September 10th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm . Join EDS families of all ages for food and fun as we kick off Fall meeting new friends and getting reacquainted with familiar faces. Friends will provide chicken, hot dogs and bottled water. Please bring a side dish to share. Also, bring cash for games and activities; all activity ticket sales benefit our Upper School classes and clubs. Puppy Chow Ingredient Drive
The Friends of EDS PTO makes and sells "puppy chow" at their Fall Festival booth during the first full week of October. In preparation for that event, your help is needed!  Beginning  Tuesday, September 5,  students are challenged to bring in items for the Puppy Chow Ingredient Drive. This is a major fundraiser for our Friends of Evansville Day School PTO, and your donations are greatly appreciated.

Primary School (JPK - 4th): Crispix cereal (Name brand or Schnuck's generic only)
5th & 6th: chocolate chips
7th & 8th:  large containers of creamy peanut butter
9th & 10th: snack size Ziploc baggies   
11th & 12th: powdered sugar 

If each student in the grade level brings at least one item, that grade level will win a Fresh-Baked Cookie Platter from Penn Station as a prize. All ingredients must be collected by Friday, September 22. Please bring in your ingredients as quickly as you can!
