Students won't need to feel lost on campus during the first week of classes; information booths will be available at three locations on campus starting Monday, August 28 and will remain open through Thursday, August 31.

Fullerton College Welcomes New Students
at Smart Start Saturday
The Fullerton College campus was buzzing with excitement on Saturday, Aug. 19 as more than 600 new students and their families attended Smart Start Saturday. The campus-wide event, which is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President of Student Services, is designed to help new students prepare for the fall semester and provide information on programs and services available at FC.

President's Open Forum is Sept. 18 and Office Hours are Sept 5 and 21
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, President Greg Schulz has scheduled a series of Open Forums during the 2017-2018 academic year. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend.
Find out more here. The President has also scheduled open office hours for one-on-one meetings with the campus community. For September, the open office hours are on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. and Thursday, Sept. 21 at 12:30 p.m. in Building 100.
Senator Meets with Student Leaders
State Senator Josh Newman led a round table discussion with Associated Students President Taylor Gaetje, Student Trustee Andrew Washington and 10 other student-leaders on Friday, August 11. Topics ranged from financial literacy, civic engagement, mental health, resources for student-veterans to social media and more.

The Cadena Transfer Center will host their 13th Annual Bienvenidos! - A Day of Welcome & Celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Academic and Student Services resource tables as well as student clubs and organizations will be located on the Quad. Donate blood during the American Red Cross Blood Donor Days hosted by Associated Students. The Red Cross will be on campus on Wednesday, August 30 from 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. in Room 224.

After You Apply to Transfer
This workshop on Friday, Sept. 1 at noon provides students with the next steps they must take after they have submitted their university application.Topics include application acknowledgement notices, setting up university portals, reporting fall grades and spring enrollment, online application updates and transcripts and much more! A.S. Candidates Info Session
On Thursday, August 31 at 2 p.m. in Room 227 there will be an A.S. Candidates Information Session for students interested in running for Senator positions with Associated Students. To be eligible to run for Senate, candidates must attend the information or make an appointment with the Director of Student Activities.

Fullerton College and Santa Ana College Meet for 95th Key to the County
The 2016 National Champion Hornets will open the season this coming Saturday, Sept. 2 at home against Santa Ana College for the 95th Key to the County game. Kickoff will be at noon, so come on out to Yorba Linda High's Nathan Shapell Stadium and support the team!
Men's Soccer
The FC men's soccer team opened up their season last Friday at home against Chaffey falling to the Panthers 4-2.
Up Next: Fullerton will play on the road at College of the Canyons on Tuesday, August 29 at 7 p.m.
Women's Soccer
The Hornets will make their 2017 season debut at home against Mt. SAC on Friday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. Come on out and support the team!
Women's Volleyball
The FC women's volleyball squad will open their season this Wednesday, August 30 at home against both Cerritos and Citrus Colleges. Game times are at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Softball
The Hornets had two sophomores sign on with four-year colleges last week. Center fielder Jill Saiza signed with Marymount University and pitcher Bella Aguilar with Maryland Eastern Shore. Both were outstanding and students and athletes for the Hornets and will no doubt carry on that success at their new schools.

FC Art Collection: Color and Contrast

The Fullerton College Art Department is proud to be in the possession of a very fine and envied collection of paintings, drawings, prints, and other objets d'art. "Color and Contrast" seeks to highlight and share some of the collection's finest examples, including works by prominent and influential figures such as Milford Zornes, Ruth Ellen Weisberg, Hung Liu, and Thomas Campbell; stunning works by lesser known artists are also featured in this important exhibition that signals the beginning of a new, productive and exciting academic year.
