After School Enrichment Classes Begin Next Week Register Now for Chess Wizards and Coding with Kids Classes
The Stillmeadow PFO is working with Chess Wizards and Coding with Kids to offer after school programs at Stillmeadow this fall.

Here's what you need to know:

  • All classes begin the week of September 11 and end by December 6.

  • Registration is open now. Registration is online only via the links below.

  • Course descriptions and pricing is provided below.

  • Children registered for after school enrichment classes will be transitioned to the appropriate room immediately after school. 

  • Children must be picked up in the designated classroom at the end of each class.
  • Contact the PFO's after school program coordinator, Mondana Nikoukari, with questions.
Chess Wizards for Grades K-5
Chess Wizards offers fun, intellectual and challenging chess education and tournament experiences to children of all abilities and ages. The Chess Wizards curriculum is designed to impart the many benefits of learning chess, including critical thinking, sportsmanship, and learning from mistakes in a challenging and exciting way. When: Wednesdays from 2:50 to 3:50 pm beginning September 13 and ending on December 6. (No classes on September 29, November 22, and November 29.)

Grades: K-5

Where: Room 155

Number of Students:  10-14 per class. (Note: Chess Wizards requires a minimum of 10 students to conduct this class.)

Price: $15 per class or $150 for entire 10-week session

Cancellation Policy:  Chess Wizards reserves the right to cancel activities if registration falls below our required minimum of 10 students per class.

Refund Policy:  No refunds will be issued after 2nd class
Coding with Kids: Little Coders for Grades K-2
Students will develop their computational thinking skills and build their own creative programs. Curriculum combines a blend of fun activities (both "on-screen" and “off-screen") to keep students engaged and excited about coding. This class will give students a strong foundation on coding basics, such as loops and conditionals, that can be built upon in our other classes.


When: Tuesdays from 2:45 to 3:45 pm beginning September 12 and ending November 21. (No class on November 7)

Grades: K-2

Where: Room 155

Number of Students:  6-16 per class. (Note: a minimum of 6 students is required to conduct this class.)

Price: $199 for entire 10-week session
Coding with Kids: Game Development for Grades 3-5
In this fun after-school class, students will be introduced to the core concepts of computer programming, including loops, conditionals and variables. Using the Scratch development environment, students will learn how to create their own programs, such as simple games, animations, and interactive stories.


When: Tuesdays from 2:45 to 3:45 pm beginning September 12 and ending November 21. (No class on November 7)

Grades: 3-5

Where: Room 158

Number of Students:  6-16 per class. (Note: a minimum of 6 students is required to conduct this class.)

Price: $199 for entire 10-week session
