Fullerton College Launches Re-entry Connect Program
Attending college is a challenge. Attending college while raising children, married, older than the traditional college student, or all of the above, has added challenges. Challenges that can sometimes make a student feel isolated from their fellow students and prevent them from fully engaging in the college's support programs. A new program aims to change that.

President's Open Forum Set For Sept. 18, Office Hour Will Be Sept. 21
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, President Greg Schulz has scheduled a series of Open Forums during the 2017-2018 academic year. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend.
Find out more here. The president has also scheduled open office hours for one-on-one meetings with the campus community. His next open office hour will be Thursday, Sept. 21 at 12:30 p.m. in Building 100.
Nursing Mother's Lounge Available
Nursing mothers now have a quiet and comfortable space on campus to pump and/or breastfeed. Student Health Services has dedicated a privacy room located in the first floor bathroom of the 400 Building as a Nursing Mother's Lounge. For more information, visit the Student Health Services Office in Room 1204 or call 714-992-7093.
Learn How To Quit Smoking
This free one-session class is open for students and staff to help kick the habit. The session helps create a plan to quit and participants will receive a free supply of nicotine patches for attending. Two dates are available: Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. or Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. in Building 200. Room 229. The class is facilitated by a smoking cessation specialist of Anaheim Regional Medical Center and will cover the same material on both dates. For more information, call 714-992-7093.

2017 Fall Convocation in Photos
"Community Lives Here" was the theme of the 2017 Fall Convocation on Aug. 25. Led by President Dr. Greg Schulz, the fall semester kick-off event for faculty and staff featured numerous speakers and honored the hard work by FC Food Bank staff and volunteers; Dr. Rolando Sanabria, recipient of the North Star Award, and helped the college gear up for the accreditation visiting team visit in October.

Health Services is now taking requests for classroom presentations for the Fall 2017 Semester. Classroom presentations are typically 15 minutes in length and are facilitated by certified Peer Health Educators or you can request a 60 minute health presentation. Mission Statement Posters Available
Decorative posters with the college's new Mission Statement and Vision are available for pick up in Building 100, Room 113. Drop in anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On June 13, the new Mission Statement, Vision and Core Values were ratified by the North Orange County Community College District.

Fullerton College Keeps Key to the County
In the 95th Key to the County game, the Hornets claimed the rights to the key once again with a 77-28 victory over Santa Ana College. It is California Community College Football's oldest rivalry dating back to 1916 when the two fledgling teams rose out of the dust fighting it out to a 0-0 finish. Times have changed as both teams put up a new combined record of 105 points with Fullerton College gaining the right to bring the key back to campus.

Men's Soccer
Fullerton played well over the weekend against two of the SoCal's more dominant teams, but lost both of their contests to Rio Hondo College (2-0) and Mt. San Antonio College (3-2). Up Next: FC (1-3 overall) will try and pick it up when they host LA Mission College today at 1 p.m.
Women's Soccer
In their first game of the season, the Hornets shocked highly touted Mt. San Antonio College 1-0 last Friday at home. The win over the Mounties was their first in over a decade.
Up Next: Fullerton (1-0 overall) will play at El Camino College today at 2 p.m.
Women's Volleyball
The Hornets got off to a great start winning their first two contests last Wednesday at home against Cerritos (3-0) and Citrus (3-0). Fullerton then went to Rio Hondo last Friday and fell 3-0.
Up Next: FC (2-1 overall) will travel down to Palomar College on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 5 p.m.

The Fullerton College Art Department is proud to be in the possession of a very fine and envied collection of paintings, drawings, prints, and other objets d'art. "Color and Contrast" seeks to highlight and share some of the collection's finest examples, including works by prominent and influential figures such as Milford Zornes, Ruth Ellen Weisberg, Hung Liu, and Thomas Campbell. Stunning works by lesser known artists are also featured in this important exhibition that signals the beginning of a new, productive and exciting academic year.
