The Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel Commission will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Parallel Thimble Shoal Channel Tunnel on Monday, September 18, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
This event will be held on the southernmost island of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and the public is invited to attend.
Lt. Governor Ralph Northam, Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Layne, members of the Virginia General Assembly, Bridge-Tunnel officials and representatives of Chesapeake Tunnel Joint Venture, the Design-Build Joint Venture, will be speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony.
