Manitowoc County Home Builders Association: The 32nd Annual Parade of Homes takes place September 7-9. Tour eight beautiful, local homes to see the workmanship and innovative home designs of area builders. Advance tickets are $7 and are available at the MCHBA office located at 1011 S. 10th St., Manitowoc. For a list of more advance ticket locations, go to www.mchbabuilds.com/parade-of-homes. Tickets are also available at each home during the parade for $10.

The Chamber of Manitowoc County: Voting is now open for the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin. Some products you may know and some you may not, but they all have one thing in common: They are all made in Wisconsin. Click here to vote. To vote, simply select the product that you think is the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin, and click vote at the bottom of the ballot. Anyone can vote in this contest, and people can vote once every 24 hours. Voting ends for this round at 11:59pm on Monday, September 11. The top 16 products from this round will be placed into a bracket-style tournament known as Manufacturing Madness.
 
Lakeshore Humane Society (LHS): September 23 is the Walk for Kindness! The two-mile walk starts at 10:00am from the Lakeshore Humane Society to a route down 8th Street and through Lincoln Park. A short awards ceremony and games will take place at the Lakeshore Humane Society following the walk. $30 registration fee for ages 13+. Walk with or without a dog! Registration starts at 9:00am at LHS the morning of the walk.
 
Holiday House of Manitowoc County, Inc.: In recognition of our 60th Anniversary, Holiday Housewill hold a 5K "Fun" Walk & Roll event on October 14 at 9:00am. The event will take place on the Mariners Trail, starting at the wayside across from Aurora Medical Center Manitowoc County at the Woodland Drive intersection. Registration materials can be found at www.holidayhouse.org/Walk & Roll.html or at the front desk at Holiday House. Those who register by September 20 will receive a t-shirt on the day of the event. Culver's: On Tuesday, September 12, Culver's of Manitowoc will be holding a Houston Hurricane Relief Day of Giving. The restaurant will donate 10% of its sales to the United Way of Greater Houston. All funds raised will enable the United Way to help people recover from this disaster. Manitowoc Public Library is proud to present a National Suicide Prevention Week Film - "Don't Change the Subject" - on Tuesday, September 12, at 6:00pm in the Balkansky Community Room. This darkly funny, uplifting documentary about surviving suicide explores what happens when one man dares ask the question, "Why won't anyone talk about suicide?" Filmmaker Mike Stutz investigates his mom's suicide by opening up a conversation with his family that they never had when he was a kid. He then recruits a band of writers, artists, dancers, comics, punk clowns and suicide survivors to put their own unique stamp on the conversation. An inspiring, not-to-be-missed event!

Holy Family Memorial (HFM): The Holy Family Memorial Health & Wellness Center, which services The Chamber of Manitowoc County members, is accepting registrations for 2018. Our goal is to assist employers and their employees with staying healthy and reducing healthcare costs. The Health & Wellness Center is staffed by Holy Family Memorial healthcare professionals. Lakeshore Technical College (LTC) is offering new FastTrack programs beginning in January 2018. The new FastTrack programs are ideal for working adults who need to balance work, family and college. Attend classes Monday evening from 5:00 - 9:00pm and complete two courses every eight weeks. You will be able to complete a FastTrack program in two years.
