SEPTEMBER NEWS FROM THE KAMLOOPS SPORTS COUNCIL!
Dear Tournament Capital Volunteers,
We hope you have all had a wonderful summer! The Sports Council has been keeping busy with many great events showcasing our beautiful city over the last few months. We hope you all had a chance to make it down to Ribfest for some great music, family fun zone, and of course, RIBS! We feel very fortunate to work with such a great group of individuals, the Kamloops Daybreak Rotary, who put countless hours and effort into the production of this local favourite event. With all the money raised going towards local charities we feel a real sense of pride contributing to their success.
We want to send a personal invite to all of our TC Volunteers to the upcoming Saturday Social happening during the Tournament Capital Games, Saturday, September 9th, starting at 6 pm. This event is open to the public and will include live music from the very talented 'Eagle Eyes' (The Eagles tribute band), food from local food trucks, and a family friendly beer garden. All happening in Riverside Park at the Rotary bandshell! Come down and enjoy an evening with Sports Council, Red Collar and Iron Road Breweries. Admission is free!

KIDSPORT WEEK IS COMING UP! SEPTEMBER 9th - 16th!

KidSport Kamloops is a local chapter of KidSport Canada. They are a not for profit organization that works to remove the financials barriers that otherwise prohibit a child from playing sports.

Funds raised locally are spent locally and are distributed as grants to cover registration and/or equipment fees associated with participation in a season of sport.  Sport and physical
activity provide invaluable opportunities for kids to learn teamwork, fair play and dedication. Through sport participation, kids learn how to set goals and work to achieve them - all while havin g fun and learning social and fundamental movement skills. Kids in sport benefit from increases in self-confidence and tend to lead happier, healthier lifestyles, now and in the future.
