Did you know that July is National Grilling Month?!
What's your favorite recipe to prepare on the grill?
Barb - One of my favorite things to grill are stuffed peppers. I use a grilling tool that holds them upright and this recipe calls for bacon which I leave out because I am a pescatarian. You can also substitute Anahiem peppers for jalapeno if you don't like the kick.

Timmy - Veggie quesadillas! In my home we use this recipe for meatless Monday, but you can always add in chicken or steak for some extra protein. Serve with sour cream, guacamole & salsa.

I think veggies always taste better after a few minutes on the grill! I like to use Bobby Flay's Perfectly Grilled Corn on the Cob recipe when I serve up corn. If you don't like his mix of southwest spices, you can always throw on a little Old Bay instead! Click here for the recipe!
Dana - Grilled pizza in the summer is always fun! Now that our garden is in full bloom we can put our tomatoes, peppers and zucchini to good use.

I love anything from Ina Garten - she never disappoints! Her grilled shrimp recipe is delicious, especially on a hot summer night served with a caprese salad, corn on the cob and a glass of rosé. Delish! Click here for the recipe!

I like grilling vegetables in the summer. It's so simple! I put some olive oil sea salt and pepper on them and throw them on the grill. Click here for a similar recipe!
Sarah - My all time favorite thing to grill is watermelon! Paired with a yogurt dipping sauce or a spicy dressing drizzled on top, it's always yummy. Click for recipe!
Heather - It's not grilled, but it goes great with everything that is. Barley Salad! Click for recipe!

July 2017
From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
I love eating tons of fruits and veggies throughout the year, but they always seem to taste better when they are grown locally! Summer is the absolute best time to take a visit to your local farmers market. As a local business owner, I believe that supporting local businesses is so important. I go to my local farmers market at least once a week to buy fresh, organic crops right from the farmers themselves. This week I bought the most amazing peaches - they were the perfect combination of sweet and juicy. It's so great knowing where your food comes from and knowing that my purchases help our local economy.
While I am far from being a farmer, I do have a vegetable garden and my family and I love the fresh vegetables we grow. Right now my tomato plants are booming, and I have been googling new recipes to try out. Fresh tomato salad is first on my list! Enjoy the rest of your summer and take advantage of all this time of year has to offer!
Warmly,
Barb
