Walk for peace, enjoy theater, hike Muir Woods, build community space and mentor youth!

Summer is really cooking with great opportunities for residents to play and serve in the community.
From helping our youth to enjoying the outdoors, our community has a range of interactive events!
Please consider participating in some of these great opportunities:
WHAT: Richmond Ceasefire Annual City Wide Walk
WHEN: Friday, July 21, 5 pm to 8 pm.
WHERE: Walk begins at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 321 Alamo Avenue (off Fred Jackson Way), North Richmond.
MORE: Salsa Music will be played for the entire walk. Rich City Rides will join again this year.
WHAT: SF Mime Troupe's Theater in the Park
WHERE: Nicholl Park (at Macdonald Avenue and 31st Street), Richmond.
MORE: The San Francisco Mime Troupe produces socially relevant theater of the highest quality.
The Mime Troupe performs its shows in local parks for Free.
WHEN: Saturday,
July 22, 8 am to 5 pm.
MORE: Many families are unaware of the the beauty of Muir Woods. This community hike is dedicated to ensure equitable access to nature, parks, and public lands. This will be a
Fun, Free and Family-Friendly event! Spots are limited, hurry before all are taken.

WHAT: Community Build Day at the North Richmond Farm and cleanup of Wildcat Creek
WHEN: At the Farm: Saturday, July 22, 10 am to 1 pm; at Wildcat Creek: Saturday, July 22, 10 am to noon.
WHERE: North Richmond Farm at 323 Brookside Drive (off Fred Jackson Way). For the Wildcat Creek Cleanup, meet at 10 am at Lucky's A's ballfield off Fred Jackson Way, one block south of the Farm, North Richmond.

WHAT: Become a Writing Coach with WriterCoach Connection
WHEN/WHERE: Orientation on
Tuesday, July 25, at 6 pm in Richmond or
Friday, July 28, at 9:30 am in Berkeley. To register and for location information, click here.
MORE : WriterCoach Connection (WCC) brings teams of trained volunteers into Lavonya DeJean Middle School; Kennedy High School; Richmond High School; Korematsu Middle School; Crespi Middle School and El Cerrito High to provide individualized academic support to students on their classroom writing assignments.

with only a 2-hour commitment during the school day.
