Tech Infrastructure in Florida
Join us 5:30 - 9 p.m. Tues., July 25 for Tech Infrastructure in Florida at FAU Tech Runway. The event will feature Joe York, President of AT&T Florida.

Mr. York has held various positions within AT&T, including vice president legislative & regulatory affairs. His leadership has resulted in the reformation of Florida legislature regulations in the cable and telecommunication industries. These major changes in state law resulted in greater competition and new investments into the Florida economy.

Startup Grind
2018 Global Conference
Startup Grind has opened its early applications for the Global 2018 Conference Startup Showcase. The best startups from across the globe will have the chance to be featured during the showcase Feb. 13 - 14 in Redwood City, Calif.

Startup Grind is a global startup community, powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs.

The top 50 companies from the Startup Exhibition will be invited to join the Startup Program.

Program Highlights
State Awards $1M Grant to FAU Tech Runway
The State of Florida awarded FAU Tech Runway a $1.016 million grant during the closing days of the 2016-2017 legislative session. The FY17-18 grant amounts to a 35 percent increase over last year's commitment from the state. Deepest gratitude goes out to our state legislative delegation, its leadership and the Governor's Office for supporting FAU's community of entrepreneurs.

Venture Company Highlights
Two Degrees & Videopura Pitch at Cade Museum
Two Degrees and Videopura, Venture Class 5 companies, recently pitched alongside 14 other finalists for the 8th Annual Cade Prize in Gainesville, Fla.

Four of the 16 companies will be selected on July 31 to compete for the grand prize. The winner will be announced at the Cade Museum Inventivity Bash in September.

The Cade Prize is one of the largest cash prize competitions for innovation in the state. Open only to Florida residents and Florida-based companies, the Cade Prize awards a $50,000 cash prize (provided by the Community Foundation of North Central Florida) and in-kind incentives.
