Sermon: Rev. LeeAnn Inman
Broken & Beautiful: "Labor Pains"

Scripture: Romans 8:12-25

Paul writes his letter to the Romans with the pain of a broken world in mind. He tells us that our suffering is nothing compared to the glory about to be revealed in us. All creation is waiting, like a woman in childbirth, to see the revealing of the children of God.  Labor pain is not a fruitless pain.  It is pain with a promise of new life. We are that new life, ever forming and reforming under God's skillful hands. God is still pushing and guiding us to live as the new creations we were made in Christ. This kind of creation and rebirth is often uncomfortable, but God is using all of it to transform us. There is no pain that God cannot use or redeem. There is no struggle that God can't use to strengthen us. This is God's power to create beauty from brokenness, to bring life out of pain.
Worship Series: Broken & Beautiful
BROKEN & BEAUTIFUL:  Good News for Tough Times -  Paul knew the Christian life was a perilous one, and the world in which the church was growing and spreading was unpredictable and increasingly diverse. In this series covering some of the most intriguing and inspiring passages from the book of Romans, we learn how God sustains us in the midst of brokenness, both within and without, helping us find wholeness and unity, no matter what crises we are facing.

July 30th - Broken & Beautiful: "Inseparable" - Romans 8:26-39 No amount of brokenness can separate us from the love of God in Christ

August 6th - Broken & Beautiful: "All-Inclusive Grace" - Romans 9:1-5 God chooses us all, despite human differences

August 13th  - Youth Sunday - special recognition for students and teachers

New "Short-Term" Bible Study Begins This Week!

This "short-term" bible study promises to be an engaging look at one of the most challenging books in the Bible.  Taught by Cindy Wheatley, this class will run concurrently with our new worship series "Broken & Beautiful," as we use Paul's masterpiece for the foundation of our understanding of how beauty and good news are found within the challenging times we encounter.  There is no need to register for the class, just come on in!  We hope to see you there!
