JULY 2017
For many of us, summer is the time we take a much needed vacation.

There may be some additional things to keep in mind the next time you pack your bags for a trip away.
  • Travel Insurance provides necessary emergency care when you're not near your regular doctor or medical facility. It can also cover issues such as flight cancellations, delays and baggage loss.
  • Cash and money protection are some of the easiest ways to make sure you're well covered when traveling. Before leaving, be sure to contact your card company and tell them when and where you'll be traveling to, so they do not become suspicious of unusual purchases. Also, be sure to have an extra supply of cash in case you do run into any problems with your credit or debit cards.
  • Copies of important documents and information are crucial in case of emergency. Keep photocopies of items such as your passport, photo ID, tickets and itinerary, hotel reservations and travel insurance. Also, be sure to have an emergency contact card for everyone you're traveling with. This should include a variety of basic information, family contacts, local police institutions or medical centers in case someone gets lost or injured away from your group.
Your vacation should be a relaxing time, but consider these items for the next time you travel. They may help you prepare and have peace of mind in case an emergency may arise.

GET TO KNOW THE ARGI TEAM

Stephanie Broughton
Director of Business Retirement Plan Services
Louisville, KY

Describe your role at ARGI in less than two sentences: I work closely with the Business Retirement Plan Services team focusing on building processes designed to improve efficiency and customer service, and help deliver sales support.

Do you have a nickname?   Not really. I used to have one as a kid, but I finally got rid of it. Sorry it's a secret!

Hometown:   Mt. Washington, KY

Favorite quote:   "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." - John Quincy Adams

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?   The sudden loss of my father as a teenager. He was my best friend and always will be.

What is your favorite place to vacation?   Hard to pick, but I love going to Orlando, FL and Gatlinburg, TN.

What is your favorite hobby?   Walking (have to get my Fitbit steps in) and playing games with my family.

What is the best book you have ever read?    The Shack by William P. Young

Are you involved with any charities or non-profits?   I enjoy volunteering every year with the National MS Society. This organization is near and dear to my heart.

Number one thing on your bucket list?   Vacation in Hawaii!

What would you do (for a career) if you weren't doing this?    I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing right now as a career. When I retire from ARGI, I might become a Real Estate agent part time.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?   If I only have one day, it would probably be a travel agent. I love to travel and think it would be fun to help others find their dream vacations.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?   Stop worrying about what other people think of you and be true to yourself. Kindness makes you the most beautiful person in the world, no matter what you look like.

How do you define success?   A quote by Henry Ford that I truly believe in is " If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself."

ARGI GIVES
This past month, members of the Personal Planning team volunteered at Bridgehaven, a Louisville-based nonprofit providing mental health services for adults living with mental illnesses.

While there, the team landscaped the facility's serenity garden. This garden provides an area for small group meetings, gatherings and reflection at the memorial rock for Bridgehaven members who have passed away.

Thank you team, for your dedication to giving back to our community!

Do you know a nonprofit that may benefit from an ARGI Gives grant? Send them our grant application, or let us know by contacting [email protected] for more information.

Applications for the Fall grant cycle are due August 15th!
