9th Annual Golf Outing
Hit the greens to support financial aid at Columbus Academy!
The Columbus Academy community is invited to participate in the 9th Annual Columbus Academy Golf Outing being held on
Monday, September 18 at
Jefferson Country Club. The golf outing is designed to benefit financial aid in memory of
George N. Corey, former Board of Trustees president and father of
Michael Corey '01.
The outing will include the following and so much more:
- Eighteen holes of golf
- Riding cart
- Two sleeves of golf balls
- Box lunch
- Dinner
- Contest prizes
The outing will start at
1:00 p.m.
, followed by a casual gathering at the clubhouse.
There will be two flights available. Golfers will have the option to play a casual four-person scramble or a four-person two-best ball for those who would like a little more competition. The outing is limited to 100 players (25 teams).

Academy Magazine
The latest issue of
Academy magazine should have arrived in mailboxes in June. This edition features a photo essay of our new spaces that opened during the 2016-17 school year, all shot beautifully by renowned architectural photographer
Brad Feinknopf '82. Also covered are numerous special events from the late fall through early spring, including Reunion Weekend, Holiday Luncheon, Athletic Hall of Fame inductions and alumni receptions.

School News
During a beautiful morning ceremony on June 8, Columbus Academy celebrated its Class of 2017 at the school's 104th Commencement. Head of School Melissa Soderberg and graduating senior Sarah Wexner both delivered welcomes, followed by the Valedictory Address by senior Michael Zhang and the Commencement Address by guest speaker Leslie H. Wexner.

Congratulations to the seven National Merit Scholars from our Class of 2017: Ketan Agrawal, Parker Graham, Jasmine Lee, Sid Menon, Eric Min, Michael Qi and Gaby Sterkowicz! Overall this year, 28 seniors from Columbus Academy were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation -- 14 as Semifinalists and 14 as Commended -- which was the highest number of any independent school in Ohio and the greatest percentage of all high schools, public and private, in the entire state.

Sports News
Recent graduates Roman Bellisari and Audrey Grammel were recently featured as 2017 Scholar-Athletes in the
Columbus Dispatch
. Audrey was also named as the Top Female Scholar-Athlete for all of Central Ohio, an honor that came with a $10,000 scholarship from Motorists Insurance.

Chloe Gouhin, a rising freshman at Columbus Academy, won the national title in Y-14 women's saber at the 2017 USA Fencing National Championships this past weekend! She also placed eighth in women's cadet (U17) saber during the weeklong event in Salt Lake City. Click here for photos and more details.
