STEM EDUCATION AT THE SCIENCE CENTER

During the 2016-2017 school year approximately 6,000 children and 172 teachers from 56 local schools participated in STEM education at the Science Center.  Without you, we could not have achieved so much.  Next year, we'd like to do even more, especially for low- to moderate-income students attending Pinellas County schools.

As you know, in order to ensure a skilled workforce in the 21st century, its important to create STEM relevancy.  In order to accomplish this, we need to continue to help students understand that STEM isn't about STEM; it's about making a difference in the world.   Your $500 sponsorship will provide an entire class the opportunity to attend STEM education at the Science Center.  Join us in helping children better understand STEM.

Campers can choose from space-themed courses such as "Space Explorers" or  "Galactic Journey" to learn more about our universe and space travel.  Additional classes include "It's a Bugs Life," "Future Scientists," "Lego Robotics," "Kitchen Chemistry," and much more.

For a complete list of course offerings and registration information, visit the Science Center.

TAMPA BAY FUTURE ENGINEERS

Tampa Bay Future Engineers was held at the Science Center this summer.  This week-long class provided students, ages 16-24, the opportunity to dive into the blinking, beeping and programmable world of soldering and electronics. Students who successfully completed the program received an industry-recognized certification  (IPC J-STD-001) to help them prepare for a successful career.
