HUGHES INVESTMENTS ELEVATE UPSTATE GRANT APPLICATION NOW OPEN
Each year, Ten at the Top awards two grants of up to $5,000 each to help fund public art, events, or beautification efforts that increase community vibrancy. These grants are made possible by a funding commitment from Phil Hughes, President of Hughes Investments, who sees the positive impact of arts, culture, and vibrancy within our communities.

Grant applications are now available on the Ten at the Top website and will be accepted until September 15th. Eligible entities include neighborhood associations, civic or community based organizations, nonprofit organizations, or local governments. Interested applicants are asked to submit a non-binding interest form by August 1st, which can also be found on our website.

Finalists will be chosen by a judging panel and will give a pitch at the November Celebrating Successes forum, after which the judging panel will select the winners.

A workshop for communities and organizations wanting to learn more about the Hughes Investments Elevate Upstate Grants was held on June 14. You can check out the workshop video.

To learn more about the grant and past grant winners, please visit the Hughes Investments Elevate Upstate Grants webpage.

The Getting to Know Your Neighbor Upstate Bus Tour made a stop in Abbeville County on June 13th.

It was a great day in Abbeville as participants enjoyed a full day exploring the county.

The day began with a visit to Due West and stops at the Renaissance Retirement Community and Erskine College. The morning also included an economic development update and visit to Prysmian Cables and Systems. After lunch with local community leaders hosted by the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce and a walking tour of downtown Abbeville, the group took a ride to Calhoun Falls to see the Blue Hole Park on Lake Russell. The trip concluded with dessert and a brief tour at West Carolina Telephone's headquarters in Abbeville.

You can check out photos from the bus tour through this link.

The final Upstate Bus Tour of 2017 will be to Greenville County later this year. Look for more details in the coming months.
