Message from Rabbi Bearman
This weekend, I watched with horror and anger as violence and hatred erupted in Charlottesville. I found myself at a loss for what to say or even how to process what I was seeing on the news. And then, even as I sat frozen with shock and concern, one of my favorite lines of prayer began to fill my mind.
"...the winding way to that promise passes through the wilderness... [and] there is no way to get from here to there except by joining hands, marching together."
Please join me and many of our friends from congregations in Wilton and beyond for an
Interfaith Service of Solidarity at Our Lady of Fatima Church on August 23rd at 7:00 pm. My
colleagues and I are still working on the details of the evening, and I will send more information when we have finalized the plan.
On August 23rd and every day, we will join hands and continue forward together.

Shabbat in the Park This Friday - In Case of Rain ....
We invite you to join TBC as we celebrate Shabbat in the Park! We will hold services in Merwin Meadows in Wilton on Friday, August 18 at 6:30 pm. Bring a picnic dinner to eat under the pavilion after services. Bring a friend or two as well to celebrate Shabbat outdoors.
Merwin Meadows is located at
52 Lover's Lane, Wilton. There is ample parking. Coming from Route 7, turn onto Route 33 North. At the second traffic light, make a right onto Lovers Lane just after the Wilton Congregational Church. You'll see a sign for the Wilton Playshop. Go to the end and park. Coming from Ridgefield on Route 33 South, make a left onto Lovers Lane at the Wilton Playhouse sign and proceed as above.
We look forward to seeing you for Shabbat in the Park!
In Case of Rain - We have been eagerly anticipating this week's Shabbat service in the park. Unfortunately, it looks like Friday might be a soggy day. If it is necessary to move our Shabbat service from Merwin Meadows back to TBC, we will send an email out by lunchtime on Friday. Either way, we hope to see you on Friday evening!

Calling Our Teen Singers for the High Holy Days!
From Cantor Sobel: "As many of you know, we introduced a new family service format last year featuring modern music with a backup band. This year we would like to build on that success by adding a group of teen singers (post bar/bat mitzvah through high school) to add to the ruach (spirit) and positive energy of those services. All we need is you. The main requirement is that you want to sing and are willing and available to sing at the family HH days services on the day of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur as follows:
RH Family service - Thursday, Sept 21,12:00 noon -1:15pm
YK Family service - Saturday, Sept 30, 12:00 noon -1:15pm

[email protected]. I know that many of you can and do sing quite well so I am hoping enough of you will respond so that we can make this happen. There will, of course, be rehearsals but I expect to have several rehearsal options to accommodate the very busy schedules of our teens.

Ridgefield Route 7 Road Closure
The State of CT DOT will be closing Route 7 and detouring traffic via Route 35 and Route 102 from Friday, August 18 at 8:00 pm through Monday, August 21 at 6:00 am. Route 7 will also be closed the weekend of August 25.
