Kindergarten Social

Monday August 21st

4pm - 5pm

All new Kindergarten students and parents are invited to a 'meet and greet' in the Kindergarten classroom with Mrs. Haley, the Kindergarten teacher and Mrs. Ryan, our school principal. It's a great time for your child to become acclimated with the classroom, new classmates, and for parents to have all their questions answered.

7th Grade Parents

The school office must receive proof, (copy of immunization record from Dr. office or pharmacy) that your incoming 7th grader has received the required t-dap immunization by

THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 18TH. As of today, we have not received this information from several families.

Students who have not provided proof of immunization will not be able to start school on Wednesday.

The school office will be closed to visitors next Mon & Tue, 8/21 & 8/22.

TOMORROW - LAST DAY TO PICK UP UNIFORM ORDERS PLACED IN JUNE

Any uniforms not picked up by Thursday will be sent home with student on the first day of school.

After-School Kinder-care & YMCA will be open (must be registered to attend)

YMCA will have a sign up table out front of school on the first day of school.

SCHOOL DAY PARKING

SR parents may NOT park in the CN parking lots during school hours, 7am-2pm. St. Rose has only a few designated VISITOR parking spaces. Overflow parking is available at Trione soccer fields across the street and you can walk in.

Do not leave your car unattended in the traffic circle between 7:30am-8:30am AND 2:30pm - 3:30pm. This is a drop-off & pick-up zone during these hours.

St. Rose Faculty / Staff parking lot is reserved for teachers and staff only. Please do not park in a numbered space between 7am-2pm. (This is the lot on the left side of SR near pre-school)

Parking in a RED zone (designated FIRE LANE) is prohibited by the Fire Marshall.

SCHOOL DAY HOURS

Regular school day for K - 8th begins at 8:20AM

(students are tardy if not in the classroom by 8:20AM bell)

Kindergarten dismissal: 2:30 PM

1st - 8th dismissal: 2:50 PM

All 1st - 8th grade students should be picked up by 3:30PM when supervision ends.

School office closes at 3:30PM.

Minimum school days end at 12:30PM - supervision ends at 1pm

Students who aren't picked up by the end of supervision should be

registered for the YMCA after-school program.

Fidget spinner reminder

As was announced last June, fidget spinners will not be allowed at school this year.

Although these objects were sold as tools to help students focus, we have found them to be a major distraction to learning. If a child brings a fidget spinner to school the teacher will send it back home. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in helping us to keep a school environment that is

conducive to learning.

Diocese Requirement for ALL VOLUNTEERS

At the posting of this newsletter, most returning parent volunteers are NOT in compliance with Diocese Volunteer requirements. ALL MUST RE-CERTIFY BEFORE ANY CAMPUS ACTIVITY.

MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL

Students are prohibited from having medication of any kind with them during the school day or from bringing into the classroom. If your child requires medication to be administered, please stop by the school office to complete the Authorization to Administer Medication Release Form.

ALL medications must be in original packaging, with prescription attached, and/or dosage instructions on the package. We will not administer Allergy medication at school. Allergy medications should be taken at home prior to coming to school.

LETTER FROM MRS. RYAN

Dear Parents,

Teachers have been working hard to get their classrooms ready for the first day of school on August 23rd. Our Parent Association meeting was held last night to begin planning some great social activities and fundraisers. Our hard working office / admin staff are working diligently to provide you with all the information you need as the school year begins. Though we are crazy busy around here, I am grateful to be surrounded by such a great team.

As you all have been reminded, this is a re-certification year for all employees and volunteers, for the Diocese Safe Environment training. I urge all returning and new parent volunteers to complete the process as soon as possible so you are able to actively participate on campus. We appreciate the support our parent volunteers provide us, so please follow the instructions that are provided in this newsletter to get compliant.

Our teachers and staff have a number of meetings and training's on Monday and Tuesday, August 21-22, so the school and office will be closed to visitors. If you need something that just can't wait until Wednesday, please call the office first to make sure someone is available to assist you.
