"BE OUR GUEST" BRUNCH
THIS SUNDAY!

You are cordially invited to be our special guest at our "Be Our Guest" Brunch this Sunday, August 20, in the church lobby immediately following the 10:30 am worship service. This big, churchwide celebration will mark the beginning of our new ministry year here at VRBC and is a great way to jump start our new Plus1 campaign.

Invite a friend to brunch and bring your appetites for quiche, delicious ham and chicken sliders on croissants and baguettes, salad, fruit, cheeses, and other yummy brunch foods served by our very own Hospitality Team "chefs." 

There will also be a special appearance by the beautiful Belle from Beauty and the Beast fame, so bring your kids (who are welcome to dress up for the occasion) and your cameras too!
FALL GROW GROUP REGISTRATION 
BEGINS THIS SUNDAY | GROUPS START SEPTEMBER 10
 
It's time to sign up for the Grow Group fall session! There are 26 groups that meet at various times and locations throughout the week, including several that are brand new this fall. Be sure to check out the Grow Group catalog in your worship folder this Sunday.
 
WHAT IS A GROW GROUP?
A Grow Group is a group of 10 to 20 people who meet together each week to grow to be more like Jesus, and it's definitely THE BEST way to get connected at VRBC. 
 
THREE EASY WAYS TO REGISTER OR FIND OUT MORE--PICK ONE!
  • Register for a Grow Group at vrbc.net/grow beginning this Sunday.
  • Visit the Grow Group booth in the church lobby this Sunday morning before or after the worship service.
  • Mark the Connection Card found in your Sunday worship folder.
REMINDER: Even if you are planning on staying in the same Grow Group, you must register for the fall session.

Have you heard?  God has greatly blessed VRBC this past year, particularly in our Grow Ministry. As we look to the start of the new ministry year, we are already beyond capacity for Sunday morning Grow Group meeting spaces! 

To best  position VRBC for continued growth in the coming year, we will be offering two identical worship services and Grow Group meeting times at 9:30 and 11:00 am Sunday mornings beginning September 10. This additional time will allow us to reach many more people in our community for Jesus Christ.

PLUS1 CAMPAIGN:

As we step out in faith by adding a second service and Grow Group meeting time, we are asking every VRBC attender--that's YOU!--to also step out in faith and invite a friend to join you for worship or Grow Group on Sunday, September 10. If each one of us reaches one, we can double the number of people  passionately following Jesus together this year at VRBC!
PROPOSED BUDGET TOWN HALL MEETING
AUGUST 27  |  IMMEDIATELY AFTER WORSHIP SERVICE
 
The 2016-2017 Proposed Budget is currently available for review. Visit   vrbc.net/finance  to review the proposed budget information.
 
There will be a Town Hall Meeting for presentation and review of the proposed budget immediately after the worship service on Sunday, August 27, in Room 241. This meeting will be in advance of the official vote on the budget by the congregation on September 24, 2017 during the worship service.

NEW TEACHING SERIES: "BE OUR GUEST"
BEGINS THIS SUNDAY

Join us this Sunday morning at 10:30 as we kick off a new teaching series titled "Be Our Guest." We'll be talking about how Jesus calls us to live a life of hospitality--inviting the people around us into our homes and our lives. 

In this first week, we'll talk about how God surprises us with unexpected blessings when we live hospitably with an invitational lifestyle. Then join us as we kick off this new sermon series at the "Be Our Guest" Brunch immediately following the worship service in the church lobby!


NEWCOMERS RECEPTION
AUGUST 27 | 12:00 NOON TO 12:30 PM

If you are new to VRBC, you are invited to a Newcomers Reception in your honor! At this informal 30-minute gathering after the worship service on Sunday, August 27, you'll have the opportunity to get to know some of our church staff, as well as to meet others who are new to the church. We promise you will receive great hospitality and food, PLUS a chance to win some cool prizes. No RSVP is required to attend--just come!  
 
The reception will be held in the Seminar Room (located at the east end of the church lobby). If you need help finding it, just ask one of our friendly Welcome Team members in a red shirt for assistance.  Children of all ages are welcome to attend, so please pick up your children after the worship service and bring them with you to the reception.
