Complex Charitable Giving Strategies? We Can Help!
Helping clients accomplish complex estate planning strategies with charitable giving components can often be challenging. The Oklahoma City Community Foundation is here to help, just like we recently assisted Attorney Ryan Duffy, with Andrews Davis, P.C., create an estate gift for his out-of-state client.

"The Community Foundation has a bevy of effective tools to administer the charitable wishes of my estate planning clients," said Ryan. "The number of options and flexibility is second to none in my experience."

Ryan's client owns a substantial estate and a number of mineral interests in Oklahoma. She wanted to leave these assets to support her charitable interests in Oklahoma, but knew that managing a charitable trust from afar could be complicated. Ryan was familiar with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation through participating in continuing educational programs, and knew it could offer his client simple giving solutions.

The Community Foundation helped Ryan implement a gift in his client's will that would establish a donor advised fund with her assets after her death. The client was assured that the Community Foundation's knowledge of local charitable organizations would ensure her wishes were carried out. She also liked the fact that the fund will be endowed, providing charitable support in her name long after she is gone.

Did you know? The key to a more valuable planning practice may be through the heart and not retirement accounts. Financial Advisor Magazine recently reported that client respondents who received professional advice on philanthropic planning were 40 percent more likely to be satisfied with their advisors! Charitable giving continues to grow in popularity year after year as clients are recognizing the benefits they receive from developing a giving strategy, balancing their commitments and identifying effective ways to donate. Being named an executor for someone's will is a big honor -  and an even bigger responsibility. Fortunately, for those clients who have been named an executor of a will, they have the right to seek guidance from a qualified professional advisor. For those who need a little extra guidance in accomplishing this undertaking, this checklist can help the executor know their responsibility and stay on track to accomplish the goals of the will.
